BRONZE MemberMy Mother-in-Law has a BeoSound Ouverture and the turntable she had with it was (according to the local B&O specialist) beyond repair. She would like to get another turntable to listen to her collection of records. She doesn’t want anything too fancy (i.e. expensive) and, from my limited understanding of both B&O equipment and turntables, any 3rd-party make, to be compatible, needs to have a built-in RIAA pre-amplifier.
Can someone point me in the direction of a cost-effective (i.e. cheap-ish!!) turntable she can plug into her Ouverture to play her records? We’re in the UK, if that makes any difference!
TIA

To be honest, that’s about the only ‘compatibility’ requirement, hence you can take/read advice from any source. Depending on the turntable output connections, you may need an adaptor to connect to the Ouverture’s aux socket. Our site sponsor Sounds Heavenly should be able to supply – see below.
If you want to be able to remote control the turntable then you should purchase a B&O Beogram with built in RIAA, such as BG4500, 6500 or 7000. Anything ‘cheap’ will almost certainly require servicing and/or repair.
