I only have sound in two link rooms. The main room is silent. With the television, the Pentas here work just fine, but the Beomaster just sends the sound to two other link rooms, and I can’t mute, or change volume or program in those rooms. For that, I have to go back to the main room, where the Pentas are still silent. ChatGPT says I chould access OPTIONS on the Beo4, but there is no such item in the LIST. I also have Beolink 7000 and 1000.

What sort of TV do you have?  And what is the connection between TV and BM7000?  Check that the cables are all fully inserted.

Assuming that TV and BM7000 are correctly connected, and the Pentas are connected to the TV, then the TV should be in V.OPT 2 and the BM7000 in A.OPT 0.

Using the BL1000, in the main room, with the system at stand-by:

Press SOUND then 0 then STORE (to put the BM7000 in A.OPT 0)

Press PICTURE then 0 then STORE (to put the TV in V.OPT 2)   EDIT:  See below: Should read PICTURE 2 STORE

Slip of the pen, you mean:

    PICTURE 2 STORE

The TV is a Beovision 7. The DIN cables are in the Beomaster, not the TV. The Beomaster is connected to the Audio Aux Link in the box that the TV is connected to via an MCL contact. This box also has a Power Link contact. I do not know what to do with that.

I tried the Sound>0>STORE on the Blink 1000, Got a 0 (zero) on the display, and was happy for five seconds, until I tried turning it on agin, and now the BM does not respond to the commands at all. The red dot does not blink. Nothing. Tried turning it off and on by unplugging. No luck

I have a problem with my Beomaster 7000. When I do SOUND>0>STORE, it stops responding to the remote, just like it should. On SOUND>1>STORE, it comes back to responding, and the numerals come up on the display. Same thing for 3 and 4, but when I try to set SOUND>5>STORE the lights just blink, and the 5 numeral does not come up. I have had a fruitless session with ChatGPT, but no clear answer.

The original problem was that the link rooms did not respond, but just started playing from the Beomaster, and then, the Pentas in the main room stopped returning sound from the Beomaster, while still working with the Beovision 7, where I use the PC option with an Apple thingy. To get sound from the Pentas, I have to turn the Beovision on.

I tested the eye in one of the link rooms, and it responds to MUTE once, but then I have to press the front to turn it on and off. It seems to me that the redeyes have aged. Should I get new ones? Has anyone got any experience of this?

    SO, problems:

The Pentas do not play unless the TV is on.

The link rooms respond once or twice, and then have to be maually turned on and off.

The SOUND then 5 then STORE does not show the numeral 5.

The upstairs BeoLab 3500 shows the time, responds briefly RADIO, the TV, then returns to time.

Did you also set the TV to V.OPT 2?  This is essential.

With the TV and BM7000 connected and the speakers connected to the TV, the BM7000 should get its IR commands via the TV.  V.OPT 2 sets the TV to also accept ‘audio’ commands, rather than just ‘video’, and it should pass them to the BM7000, via the Beolink Converter (the little box between TV and Beomaster).

It would be worth disconnecting the link rooms whilst checking the main room – simply unplug the ‘Speaker 2’ connections at the back of the BM7000.  Once you have the Main Room working as it should we can look at the link rooms.

When the SOUND on the BM is in 0, it means that it does not receive the commands from the remote. No sound at all from the RADIO.

I just realised that the kitchen loudspeakers, when activated by pressing the redeye receiver play for a few seconds, and then the sound disappears on that set. When I do the same thing, i.e. clickstart the sound on the 4500 in the bedroom, they continue to play! So, the two link rooms react differently.

Disconnect and power down everything – unplug from mains.

Then just reconnect main room:  TV, Speakers, Beolink Converter, BM7000.  (Beolink Converter just needs ML cable to TV, and 7-pin Audio Aux Cable from AAL to BM7000 AUX/TV socket.  You could also try adding a Powerlink cable from a BM7000 PL socket to the Beolink Converter, but I do not think it will solve the immediate problem )

Connect mains power to TV and BM7000. And Pentas.

Connect mains power to Beolink converter last

    Then set A.OPT 0 and V.OPT 2 again.

Then see how the main room system behaves.

Something in this thread sounded familiar so I looked back into a thread from February where I tried to help solving this issue.

    https://forum.beoworld.org/forums/topic/speakerroms-not-responding/page/2/#post-63617

If you still have the speakers connected to both the Beovision 7 and the Beomaster 7000 then please disconnect them from the Beomaster 7000, and make the connection in the main room as shown in the sketch below (shown with another TV model)

And as Guy suggest. Disconnect the Link rooms (with everything powered off) and try to concentrate on getting the main room to work before you look more into the behaviour of the link rooms as these can very well be inflicted by wrong setup/connections in the main room.

    1. BV7 and BM7000 in same room no speakers connected to BM7000. Then BV7 in option 2; BM7000 in option 0.

    connection: BV7  – ML connection to T1611 – DL & PL connection to BM7000

    2. BV7 and BM7000 in two rooms Beolabs connected to the BM7000

    Both set to option 2

    connection: BV7  – ML connection to T1611 – DL connection to BM7000

make connections without any B&O connected to the mains, then connect everything to the mains but be sure the T1611 must be done as the last

Madskp, you are right. I tried to solve the problem in February, but got clogged with other things.  I find it really difficult to locate my old thread, except by clicking the link in the old mails.

Now, when I connect the loudspeakers to the Beovision, everything suddenly works perfectly, and I have five meters of useless eight-pin DIN. Even the upstairs loudspeaker plays along.

I have no idea where I went wrong in February. Following simple instructions should not have been difficult. I guess it is like making Hollandaise; once I stopped worrying and followed the simple instructions, it was easy.

The music system is now perfect.  Oh, did I forget to ssay thanks? Mange, mange tak, Mads!

It worked, and then it did not. I tried to activate Tape 2, but the main speakers did nor torn on, only the link rooms. Whartt are the correct OPTIONs in LINK, A,UDIO, and VIDEO in your setup?

Now it is ticking almost perfectly. Just one thing: whenn I start the Apple-TV and PC on the BV, the sound is very weak and varies, too. Something to do with the settings on the Pentas?

You are velcome. Great that it worked out

regarding TAPE2: If the other audio sources work it is not related to the option settings. Not sure what It could be though.

Regarding Apple TV and PC it could be something in the connections setup on the TV. I am not 100% sure, but I belivecyou can assign a speaker group to each source, and these two might not have the right speaker group assigned.

Maybe another user can give a better explanation of this than I can
