Hey Forum!
I am trying to find out more about the Beo4 remotes I have, all are SW 4.4
They all came from a hotel but have all the buttons as “normal” remotes has and they all seem to send a signal when I press each button on them and hold them against my mobile phone.
So nothing strange so far.
I have learned that hotel versions have various functions and buttons removed and maybe added but mine look like any other?
So I tried to add functions to the list button and it seems to work just fine too?
- On mine I have several options to choose from and as a test I just added RECORD2 V.TAPE2 PHONO CD2 LINK to the link button and that worked fine. There are also IR signals when I press OK for each of these against my phone camera.
So to my novice eyes, these Beo4 remotes seem to be just normal remotes but I want to make sure what I have.
Anything else I can test or do to confirm what I have? All my B&O equipment is in storage so I’ve no way to test them on proper equipment I’m afraid.
Thanks!

SW4.4 was a standard SW issue, introduced when the DVD (rather than AV) button was added to Beo4.

Yeah that was my thought too but thought it was too good to be true!
But I guess you are right when the normal buttons are all there and when it also is possible to program the LIST button.
By the way, do you know where to find new reasonably priced plastic “surrounds” for the displays? And maybe displays too since some have dead pixels?
Again, thanks so much!

The plastic surround part comes with new LCD screens – fitting guide here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/21827/180454.aspx
It is quite easy to move the plastic surrounds individually between screens.
And I usually buy new screens from AVA Services, here: https://www.avaservices.co.uk/
All of those displays look faulty apart from the one on the far right.

Yea tbey have damaged screens but work fine otherwise.
I have 6-7 others with fully working screens but some of those have defective plastic “surrounds” and I believe I have seen just plastic parts available but my memory plays jokes on me sometimes!🤯
I’ll attach a pic of the ones with good screens.

That could be fun! For me at least! But I think they’ll be just fine due to buttons present and working LINK so I’ll be OK.
Thanks again and wish you a great weekend!

Just to let you know that displays for BEO4 are also available for the Beoworld shop https://beoworld.org/product/beo4-display/
