Hi,
First time here, but I am really hoping that some one may be able to help me, or point me in the right direction.
We have a Beovision 11-46 on a motorised floor stand which was working perfectly, until our home movers, Pickfords, clumsily tried to disassemble it and some how managed to break off one of the pins on the tiny, micro connector plug at the end of the cable coming out of the stand, and which should go into the back of the TV.
Please, does anyone have any idea how or where I can source a replacement cable, complete with the 4 pin (male) micro connector, so that I can bring the stand back to life?
All suggestions, advice or help will be very much appreciated.
Many thanks.

28 October 2024 at 20:31 #60520Hello Stotty,
No it’s not a din sized connector, or a molex type, as far as I can determine.
I’ve attached a photograph of the cable, you will see that 1 of the tiny 4 pins has snapped off. If you can help identify what type it is, I would really appreciate it.
In the B&O user manuals for the TV, it is simply described as the “4 pin micro connector”.
Please let me know if you recognise the type it us.
Many thanks.

The datasheet is on the site so you can check exact measurements from some of the links. EDIT: Such as here: https://www.farnell.com/cad/2673247.pdf

28 October 2024 at 21:13 #60525Hello Guy,
Wow, thanks for your reply and that link. Amazing. It seems exactly the same connector as on the TV end of the cable. Fantastic!
And it seems they are based in Leeds. Brilliant.
I will follow up tomorrow with them, but can I ask, do you know or have any idea how a new part might connect to the existing cable? Like, how would I remove the current broken cable, and attach the replacement?
I have no experience or skills with electrics or electronics, but I am a keen and enthusiastic novice!
Thanks again.
28 October 2024 at 21:19 #60526Hello again Stotty,
Well apologies, but it seems you were right, it is a type of molex connector after all, although it doesn’t have that name on it anywhere.
Guy p, on the forum, has suggested a UK stockist, but I wonder, do you have any idea how I would remove the damaged part and reconnect the new one?
I have no experience in electrics or electronics, but willing to try anything – carefully!
Thanks again.
29 October 2024 at 07:17 #60543I have just replaced the plug on the stand of my BV 10-40, I found a cable(Farnell) with plugs each end and 30 cms long, I cut off the broken plug, made some wire tails , cut off the new plug with about 5cms of cable and soldered them together having traced the colours of the broken plug. I then covered each joint with heatshrink.
Strangely I have just written a piece about my endeavours but have’t mounted it on the site as yet, I have photos in my camera, visible on the camera screen but when I try to ccess them on my laptop, the laptop wants toformat the sd card. My laptop has recently updated so that may be my problem!
Otherwise I need to visit my local town and ask in the computer shop. Will keep you updated
29 October 2024 at 11:18 #60559Thanks again Stotty, and to everyone who has helped. I think now that I might have found a solution.
A few options emerged. Your solution was a neat one Stotty, but as I haven’t done soldering since I was around 14, many, many years ago, I think I would have definitely needed your video tutorial- and to buy a soldering iron, and several practice runs!
Guy was right, it is a type of Molex connector, and this morning I heard back from Mark Cooper at Multicare in Leeds, who could order a replacement cable for £22.62 plus VAT with delivery direct from the factory, within a couple of weeks. Mark was extremely helpful.
However, the star prize must go to Anton Fernando at the B&O specialists, skynnexAv, (skynnexav.com), who was able to offer me a cable ex-stock, for £25.00, which had the connector already fitted at one end, and with the bare tales at the other, which would have had to be connected into the stand or joined to the existing cable on the floor stand. His second offer was to simply deliver one of his own, fully functioning and genuine, original B&O stands, and to swap it out for my own, currently non functioning stand. All for £100.00 delivered and installed.
Sorry about this guys, especially to the more technically competent amongst you, but I’ve opted for the swap out option! So fingers crossed, within a fortnight the TV will be back, fully working, and my Pickfords nightmare can start to fade away into the past.
I will update you all once the swap out is complete, but in the meantime, thanks again Stotty, Guy, and Mark Cooper. And of course, Anton.
