So, I need one of these as I was away during the transition years and all my old equipment is MasterLink and B&O no longer sells this critical component. Is it true that these are no longer consumer updatable? What’s a man to do then?
If I buy one, is there a minimum version I should get? Are there substantial performance differences? I found an old post here in the forum that cited the final version number but then I lost it.
Thanks in advance.
3 January 2023 at 12:02 #42055Hi Xavier,
Both my BLCs are “1.4.3.19864, December 11, 2015” and they work fine.
Hope this helps. Regards, Johan
3 January 2023 at 16:18 #42056Thank you Johan.
I’ll be asking any sellers about the software version installed on their BeoLink Converter NL/ML, and will only buy if it is 1.4.3.19864 or higher.
3 January 2023 at 21:30 #42057Hello Xavier,
Johan has mentioned what is to my knowledge the final sw version. Last year, I had to order a repair of one of my BLC ´ s and they needed to exchange the electronics completely. So, more or less a new unit, and it says sw is on 1.4.3.19864. You should be careful indeed, and buy only a BLC with the latest sw version. If it is on a lower level sw version, it may be so because of faulty electronics.
The sw versions of the BLC are, from latest to older:
1.4.3.19864 – Final version
1.4.3.19816
1.4.2.19611
1.4.1.19522
Those are the ones I know about.
Kind regards,
Rolf
4 January 2023 at 16:43 #42058Ahh, yes, Rolf, thanks for your detailed advice. The current range of Connected products is set by default on software “auto-update”, so when devices currently updated by B&O cease to be upgraded, most will be left on the final version.
Which prompts me to ask… at the time the BLCs were current, did “auto-update” exist? Because then you’d be doubly right to question the full functionality of items being sold with less than the final version!
(unless the devices were stored in a drawer, one might think).
4 January 2023 at 16:49 #42059Just checked….

5 January 2023 at 15:31 #42060Thanks, MM!
Since these BLC’s had recommended auto-update, most good ones should be on 1.4.3.19864!
Now I just have to get one.
6 January 2023 at 10:39 #42061Go and grab one and enjoy your ML products working together with NL products!
Kind regards,
Rolf
