      Hi all

      I have a BV 7-32 linked to a BC 2 with 2 x BL 6000’s.

The past 2 nights the system has booted up in tv mode on its own for no reason, I have checked the timer settings in the 7-32 nothing there, all deactivated.

Any suggestions as to what to check next.

Obviously I hope this situation will not repeat itself tonight.

      Tony

Have you checked the timer settings in the BC2?

But would that contol the tv?

Another possibility: If the TV has the DVB module fitted, and a recording device is connected (eg HDR), then a timer could have been set via the DVB’s Electronic Programme Guide.

Almost certainly yes – but I am not totally sure that it would turn the screen on – this may depend upon your option settings – are they in the same room?

Ok, the BC 2 sits on the motorised stand turntable under the tv, the tv is the master and the BC 2 the slave in the ML setup.

Looked at the BC 2 menu, and there is nothing listed or activated, just a reference to use the TV for timer setup.

The tv does not have a numeric system mounted, I use 2 x digital boxes, 1 for terrestrial french tv and the other for satellite english freesat tv, both these do not have anything programmed.

I am at a complete loss! I will give it another go tonight, and maybe reboot the tv and the BC 2 tomorrow, but I don’t think that should have any effect on the system.

Some times the Beo4 can act strange.

If it happens again, try to take the remote away from the room.

Ah could be, the control has been playing up recently, replaced batteries, sort of ok, stripped it down this morning and gave it a spray with switch and contact cleaner, it seems to be working ok now but maybe tomorrow when the solvent carrier has vapourised will tell me more!

My UK Freesat box (Humax) used to ‘wake up’ at 0300hrs for SW updates (channel changes etc). I am not sure how you have it connected (hdmi or SCART), and anyway B&O don’t use hdmi CEC, but I suppose there is a small chance this could be related.

Otherwise I agree with MM that the Beo4 could well be the culprit. I had one that behaved in a similar manner – working normally and then changing channels some hours later! I tried cleaning it but eventually had to replace the contact foil.

No hdmi sockets on the tv, scart used, with a computer connection, hdmi at the pc to dvi-i at the tv, and, basic boxes so no auto updates!

So, an undisturbed nights sleep, I assume the problem was remote based as I did not change any setting with the ‘system’. Time, pardon the pun will tell!

Thank you both for the input.

Ok, about a week on from the remote clean, and still no repeat of the problem, must have been the remote!

                              Thanks for all suggestions!  😀

Great result – thanks for letting us know and fingers crossed that the system behaves from now on!?
