Playing a Beogram 5005 via 7 pin female to RCA

I purchased a few 7 pin female to male RCA adapters to test a Beogram 5005 turntable that I acquired.

So I plugged in the 5005 male connector into the female adapter and then the male RCA into my phono stage input on my (confirmed working) amplifier.

But I get NO MUSIC …just a hum that is consistent with the volume.

Because I ordered a few of the adapters I figured I would try another…same problem.

Does anyone know what could be wrong here ?

The 7 pin connectors only connect one way and I have confirmed that I have it hook up correctly.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated

How sure are you that the leads in your cable(s) are connected to the right pins?
Do you have a scheme of the connections, and where did you buy them? (Did you contact Steven from SoundsHeavely?)

I am not at all sure if they are connected to the right pins as the connector only fits one way.

Here is what I bought.

The cable could be wired for the signal to go in the opposite direction. Have a look at the diagrams here – schematics 7 and 8 may explain the problem (albeit you need to imagine a female DIN): http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=32157&PN=1

EDIT: The cable that you have bought is for an input into a DIN-equipped B&O amplifier – hence wrong direction. Thanks for your enquiry. If your amplifier has a built in phono pre-amp, then you just need this cable to connect it to the phono input of the amplifier:-
