      Hi

      new here, I’m from Holland.

Just got a beautiful Beovision 6-22 with remote.

Want to use the DVI input, but I can’t seem to figure out how to select the input…

Am I thinking to hard? Thanks for any advice!

Thanks, I just looked up how to add it and found this old post  https://archivedforum.beoworld.org/forums/p/41054/341266.aspx

unfortunately I have the ‘old’ remote with the AV button….

        What now?

        thanks

You need to select it using PC on the remote.

On a Beo4, you may have to add PC to the list function.

On a BL1000, press SHIFT then STORE.

Maybe still worth seeing if your Beo4 has the later software – it needs version 3.4 or later.

Have you tried adding PC to LIST ?  (Press Power and LIST together, then select ADD etc)

Otherwise best (only) option is to find a newer Beo4 or any BL1000.

My remote comes with different options in the display than I read in that other topic.

Is there a way to update the remote?

I assume that your remote is like the left hand one in this photo, with an AV button in the middle of the second row of buttons.  If so, we tend to call it the ‘AV version’ and this will not allow PC to be added to the LIST button.  You cannot update the software, but theoretically you could replace the motherboard and buttons to change it into a newer version that allows you to add the PC version to LIST.  This is unlikely to be cost effective, hence I would simply look for a newer remote (any of the others pictured) or find an older Beolink1000 (BL1000) which will allow you to access PC by pressing SHIFT then STORE.

On UK eBay, newer Beo4s sell for between £30 and £50 and BL1000s approx £30.  Often you have to be a bit patient as sellers can ask for more.

EDIT:  There are Hotel versions of Beo4 with reduced functionality – they usually have less marked buttons that any of the ones pictured, and probably would not have the PC functionality.

I have Beocenter 6-26 so it may be work differently.

AV3 is set to an input selectable with an hard key (V.MEM maybe, can’t say because I use a blind Beo6 now, sorry…). Then the HDTV option below is set to DVI.

I remember that even when I was using a Beo4 It didn’t never required to use the LIST key.
I even remember it was an AV Beo4 because I used that key to start the BV as a speaker with the picture muted.

                  Hope this helps.

Yes this is the case with some of the newer BV/BC6-26s and 6-23s. Unfortunately the older 6-22’s connections menu does not allow you to assign DVI to one of the inputs, hence ovide will need to find a remote with the PC option.

Thank you for correcting me Guy.

I suspected a reason why you didn’t talk about that menu but tried anyway.

I must say that the day my BC6 will fail, it will be a big loss.

I used to think that, but my wife complained about the screen size so much that I bought a used BV10-32, and sold my BC6-26, BV6-26 and BC6-23. Life is now so much simpler with hdmi sockets and not having to worry about DVI connections, PC-buttons, audio extractors, hdcp etc ?

I agree Guy, my wife also complains, not about the screen size but actually the captions that are too small and of course a BV10-32 would be ideal but they’re not so common around and quite expensive (between 500 and 800€).
