  • Problem with Beolab 5 room calibration system

The client has an issue with room calibration on Beloab 5: The calibration mic comes out half way, then fully, then retracts again and gives a red signal light. Any ideas what might be wrong and how to rectify it? Thanks

Hi Weebyx Would you be so kind to check what version of Maintenance Tool USB stick do you have? I also have v1.10, which I thought is the latest (and probably only) available M Tool Fritz is talking about is (as I understand) the - "Maintenance Tool" itself - the same software which loads every time we boot from the USB. If you have find that you have some version higher than 1.10, kindly please share Thank you Damir

  • Re: BM5 and 2GB SSD partitioning procedure?

Hi Kiwi Thank you so much for putting this together. So it seems that crashing is unavoidable, and that's unacceptable to me. I would like to try some successful procedure done with 2TB spinner HDD. If that's doable, I would buy a 2TB HDD and make it work, then clone it to SSD. If that doesn't solve the crashing issue, I will stick to 1TB WD Blue, abandon local storage idea and focus on using the NAS as a content source. However, thank you once again for your effort Cheers Damir

I think I understand what happened: previous owner had replaced the motherboard, but never did a Serial numbers sync with the Service Tool (maybe he didn't had it), so he sold it as non-working unit. Unfortunately in the meantime (or then already) the HDD died as well, so there's no place to read the Serial number from. Maybe some more knowledgeable guys here can help, or might be worth a shot to have a chat with B&O technician for advice what to do in such situation.

Among other options, the ServiceTool can help in 2 scenarios: - If HDD is gone, to read the Serial number from the MB and register into new HDD - If MB is dead, to read the Serial number from the working HDD and write it into BIOS of the "new" MB Damir

  • BM5 and 2GB SSD partitioning procedure?

Hi guys I just recently bought a 1TB BS5/BM5 and so far I have successfully upgraded it with SSD. Since I am using 2TB WD Blue SSD, my initial intention was to expand available storage to 2TB, but I only managed to use it up to original 1TB. When I do re-partitioning of DATA partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard, BM5 boots up normally, but when I select Mode->System on main navigation screen, system crashes instantly. For the same reason I cannot enter the Service Menu to reboot it from Service

Sorry, I understood that you have another, old Beomaster 5 (where you have SSD now), so that's the HDD I was talking about. Or you can just temporarily transfer that SSD and use it as cloning source. Doesn't matter it's from another machine. That you will sort out in next step with Service Tool USB. The objective is to create at least some kind of "healthy" initial environment and there's big chance that your BM5 comes back to life. PCB51 rarely dies (but of course, there's

Seems to me that that all hardware components are working fine (except the HDD, but it's important anyway). If you have a Service Tool USB it will re-build HDD's content from the Ghost32 image (that's why Service Tool USB is 3.7 GB in size). Just install any new HDD and use your old BM5 HDD as a "Clone Entire HDD" source. Once done, update serial numbers and everything should be working fine. You can also run "Restore" if it doesn't.

  • Re: Beolab 11 - opinions for music reproduction?

I completely agree on that! It's defintiely the most beautiful subwoofer on the market, and maybe the only one which can be wall-mounted. I have to admit that I became almost a passionate collector of BL11 covers BTW, I am running BL11 hooked to a pair of BL3 and it's an awesome addition to gently "fill" the lower frequency range Damir
