Hi everyone Just thought i would update you on my quest to get the 9500 Beocenter cd player sorted. Cost me a total of £46, so, pleased with the result and another old beauty is alive and kicking. Many Thanks for everybodys help. Gary

Sorry I have not replied to all the helpful posts but I only got around to having another attempt at removing the circuit board yesterday. Martin your picture was a godsend to see where those screws were located. (well tucked away) So i finally got the board out and able to turn it over and check for any bad solder joints.None were obvious to my eyes (no scope) so i decided to gently put the heat gun over the board and hopefully rejoin any small fractures that might have developed. I refitted the

Hope this photo helps, need to access the solder joints on the back of this board but cannot get it out. Can remove the screws holding the board in position but other attachments stops it from being removed.

  • 9500 beocenter

Hi I own a 9500 beocenter which has devoloped a cd fault, the cd spins and the laser reads but there is no sound. I know the cause, it is a solder joint on the cd pcb board, my problem is i cannot get the pcb board out from the unit,.The board comes away ok but there is an alloy frame that stops the pcb board from sliding out ( this is the frame that 2 screws from the pcb board is attached too) It looks like the silver alloy frame needs to be removed first so that the board can be freed. Any help

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 cd not working

Only just realized i did not thank everyone for there help, it was indeed the infamous c2103 philips cap and has been running fine for the last 6 years. It has however just aquired a new fault, The cd spins and the counter is working properly but there is no sound, after 5 or 10 minutes almost like it has warmed up the music kicks in and after that it plays perfectly with any cd. Any thoughts? Thanks Gary

  • 9500 cd player

Hi Having a strange problem with my 9500 cd player, had the 33hf 16v capacitor replaced some 5 years ago and all has been fine. Now i have the problem of the cd player playing a disk, disk is spinning and the counter is working but there is no sound, after leaving the cd playing the sound will kick in after a few minutes and it will remain fine after this, but if you try to play the cd player the following day the same thing happens. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Any help is appreciated

  • B&O Beocenter 9500 c2103

Hi Just a shout out to joeyboygolf and everyone else who contributed to the c2103 philips capacitor problem. My 9500 was complete except for the cd not playing, after aquiring the 33uf16v philips cap from vintage parts I took it to a trusted indy electrical store to have fitted (not confident to have a go myself). This was indeed the problem and i now have a fully functional beocenter. A big THANKS! goes out to this forum, spot on information and advice. Well Happy! Gary

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 cd not working

Hi I am about to take my 9500 beocenter to the service shop having aquired the c2103 philips cap. This fits on the cd servo board (pcb30) is that correct? In the service manual page 2-13 the 2103 sits next to2117 and in front of 3105 is that also correct. Is there anything else that i should make them aware of other than taking care of the glass panels. (i have restuck them) Thanks! Gary

  • Beocenter 9500 cd not working

Hi All, I have recently aquired a mint condition 9500 beocenter, everything works except for the cd which i can hear spinning (and a kind of scraping noise) but fails to read the disc or start the number counter display. I have cleaned the laser lens but did not make any difference, this is an early model (circa 1986) and am guessing the optical radial laser pickup has failed. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated or if anyone knows of a good tech. around the Suffolk area would be great. Thanks
