  • Beogram CD 7000 open button problem

My Beogram CD 7000 is kind of giving me a hard time. It often takes multiple pushes on the open button to get it to push out the drawer. Could the switch behind it be dirty or is there a way of adjusting the sensitivity?

  • Re: Beolink 5000 E-Ink screen repair / mod

Hi - I think your mod looks very interesting. I am not a fan of the blinking of the screen but I found this on the internet: https://www.visionect.com/blog/why-epaper-blinks/ - it looks like it can be avoided, and if so - I would be very interested in having my Beolink 5000 (I have three actually) repaired this way. Also a thought from my side: Is it really necessary to remove the old LCD screen from the glass? Can't the E-Ink just be put on top without any problem?

  • Beotime problem with display and navigation pad

Hi - I recently bought a Beotime, advertised as faulty, so I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. While visually beautiful, it has two problems: 1) Display 3 is completely dead, no lights, no numbers, no nothing. 2) The directional pad does not work 'to the right' which means it is impossible to access the menus, set the time etc. I wonder if it is possible to repair it at all. Any ideas? /Filip

While this may work for a short while, you will eventually experience that the motor bearings will run dry again. They need to be infused with oil under vacuum and then you can enjoy a silent motor for hopefully another 30 years.

  • Beogram 7000 muting question

Hey - I finally got my MMC2 for my Beogram 7000 retipped and the sound is again as it should be. However, I notice that when the tone arm is lifted in the middle of the song, it mutes the left channel a little before the right channel - this should happen at the same time, right? Also when the tone arm is set down in the middle of a song, there is also a muting delay for half a second on the left channel. Is this adjustable somewhere?

Also, it sounds like you have not balanced the arm properly. Turn the counterbalance until the arm floats, tip it lightly and it shoud go back to floating, then turn the small dial to zero. After this you can set the tracking weight which I believe should be around 1.5 grams.

You probably need to adjust the set down point for 12" records. You can see how to do it in the service manual.
