• Re: Beosystem 4

Obviously these threads have value beyond the OP's specific needs so it bears mentioning that the BeoSystem 4 is essentially non-functional as a modern AVR. It doesn't process contemporary audio or video, nor does it have internal support for streaming music in the modes commonly used today. Most folks would be better off with a high-quality AVR with pre-amp outs. I chose the NAD T778 and have been thrilled with it. Understandably, if someone is so deep in the BeoLink Multiroom eco-system
@ BeoMatthe Sorry, but I do not see the limitations - please be more specific…I want to know, if what you call limitations, might be something special that you need. In which cases do you see the absolute need for a Core/Essence?
It's my opinion as a former BeoSystem 4 owner. I'm continuously surprised by what people are willing to live with and pay for so clearly YMMV. If you think the internal music apps are usable then really the world

I'll be honest - unless you're looking for BeoLink capabilities (you'd need a Core or an Essence MKII for this anyways), I'd probably skip the BeoSystem 4. I owned one and just got too tired of trying to work around its limitations. When it was a contemporary product it did some really terrific things, but as one that's now fairly out of date in every meaningful way I can't see even taking one for free. There are plenty of good AVRs with pre-amp outputs that you can attach

  • Re: Control4 vs. Beoliving Intelligence / Khimo

So I was a B&O dealer for nearly 20 years, but have been dealing Control4 for about the last 5. I'd say that the BLGW remains a really interesting product, but the limitation has always been a home that isn't 100% B&O (I know, but they do exist!). It's really an automation product that puts the B&O AV experience at the heart of the user interface. For a company that doesn't really do this sort of thing it's a spectacular effort and overall works very well, but, again

  • Re: Beosound Core, wireless speakers and non B&O TV

As has been mentioned, the Core itself has no WiSA built it. So you'd connect the BeoLab WiSA transmitter to the powerlink output to accomplish this. As far as connecting to a TV - I use this setup (with a Sony OLED, though) and Control4 so that the Core is both my B&O audio player, but also my TV sound component. I don't know if the BeoRemote 1 BT with a compatible LG OLED would communicate with both at once or if that feature is only for the Stage.

  • Re: Beoremote Halo, the future B&O remote control

I wouldn't wish too hard for a wifi remote control. Control4 recently came out with one (actually acquired an existing company and re-engineerd it) and it's been enough trouble that we've stopped selling it. Had the same issue with Savant. They require network fiddling that few other devices do. I long for the days of good reliable IR.

I was excited to read about a new store. Less so for the rightwing trolling. They ought to keep teenagers off this forum.

  • Re: Beolab 4 vs. Beoplay S3 - which is better?

I've set up two S3s this way and didn't like the sound. They're not tuned to be a stereo pair. The sound on the BeoLab 4s is much nicer.

  • Re: A day with a Bluesound Node 2i.

I try not to even think of the debate between high-res/CD quality/etc. because ultimately I just listen to the music I'm in the mood for and don't let quality dictate the playlist. I own a few Cores, but since leaving B&O I've considered moving to another "ecosystem" that's more affordable to grow with. I can get both Sonos & BlueSound at cost or below so I've auditioned both at home for an extensive period of time. It should come as no surprise the Sonos isn't
