• Beolab 5 set up

BL5 can be integrated in a lot of ways with Non B&O hardware. More than that you can have them connected to different sources at the same time, like Powerlink to a Beovision and to an external streamer, room correcter, or whatever with SPDIF. You can also use the Line IN to get third party analog device to connect to it, which I don't recommend because the Lab5 will do a A/N conversion before N/A it in the internal DAC. That's a pity. The old internal DAC is still excellent, even in 2019

  • Re: How many 1611 converters can be used in a master link network?
Cheers Ralph - the Beomaster 7000 responds to a.aux/N.Music/A.Tape2 and I have an apple airport express connecting Aiplay audio from the Mac to the Beomaster 7000. At present I listen to the Mac by pressing N.Music on my beo4 remote, which activates N.Music. I then have to start iTunes playing on the Mac either locally, or sung the apple remote app on my iPhone. The audio playback is fine - I'm just trying to find a way to start iTunes playing automatically

  • Re: Beovision 11 with Beolab 5 and Mac Mini
My question: How would you connect all devices to accomplish the above? Can the Beolab 5s support both the Beovision 11 via PowerLink and the Mac Mini via SPDIF coax?
The answer is yes, BV11 connected with Powerlink, and Mac Mini via PSDIF with a USB to SPDIF converter. The Shiit EITR is a very good USB/SPDIF bridge, and I recommend you to use Audirvana Plus on the Mac Mini to get the maximum quality. These 2 components are important to get the best musical

  • Re: Beoremote One low power mode is crap

It is the whole remote which is crap. Unusable in dark, ok nice looking, but when you use a Beo4 since decades, frankly the One is not the same level. They would have better do generalise the backlight of the Cinema release, or really do something relevant regarding buttons arrangement. Even the BL1000 with its so many button changes during its life was more usable in dark than this one. And it is not even better with normal light, buttons are too tiny (even with thin fingers as I have)

  • Re: BeoVision 11 problem

What I would do with mine in such a case: Open the Beotool App on my iPhone, check the BV11 status on it and generate a service report.

  • Re: Beolab 90 and MQA
Simpel question: why listen to example MQA if one can listen to original 24bit 96kHz PCM? Or What is the additional advantage of MQA other than another compression format?
I listen MQA on Tidal because I don't have the suffisant bandwidth to stream the full Hi Res files from Qobuz. And I find the quality of the MQA above the 16/44 CD one for the same album . If I could stream the full HiRes files, I would. It is why I switched from Qobuz to Tidal recently

  • Re: Beo 4 cinema desirability and value these days

I own one, and use it all days in my living room. Working like a charm. That's a pity B&O didn't generalize the backlight on all Beo4 after this one. I am thinking to buy another one to replace this crappy BeoremoteOne in my bedroom.

  • Re: What volume do you listen on your BeoVision?

Any answer will be useless, as there are so many factors involved: source of the signal and factory level, BV model, loudspeakers connected and level settings, distance to the BV and size of the room ... For example, on my BV11-55 in the bedroom, volume setting at 35 in movie mode through the inbuilt speaker, I have to setup the BV7-55+BL7.6 from the living room at 50 to have the same sound level. Both sources are the same: a HUMAX Satellite decoder connected by HDMI with volume setting at the maximum
