• Re: New B&O TV BeoVison Harmony

They also mention two more bass drivers than are seen in the pic with the lamellas off. Since I doubt the extra drivers are behind the moving speaker panels (the drivers would be firing backwards onto the screen in music mode), perhaps they're integrated in the stand's back cabinet? Stereo separation in music mode makes me wonder: when the speakers are in the "closed" position, midrange drivers and tweeter are aligned pretty much on a vertical line at the center, and the tweeter
But also a different TV with speakers that retract and act as curtains.
Could be a collaboration with LG as well: LG has a concept of such a TV (or at least this that has speakers move in front of the screen is quite similar): https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1545120142

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen in 2019... Your predictions?
Was listening to The Verge podcast from CES yesterday - laughed out loud when they said the rollable LG looked like a Bang and Olufsen product! Their thinking was that it was a bit niche, use case wise, but sufficiently luxurious that it reeked of B&O. Laughed even more when they said its should be easy for B&O to do this rollable TV, given their partnership with LG.
Well it does have more mechanical magic than any B&O product in recent years Is

  • Re: What could be wrong with my Avant? 🤢

The resolution dependent issue (4K is okay, 1080p/i and 720p are not) points to a fault in the upscaler software or chip. Everything is scaled to the panel's native 4K resolution, and it looks like you are losing resolution and/or bit-depth (and bitmapping) in the upscale process. As the issue is intermittent, my bet is on a failing chip / board. I hope a simple board replacement will fix things (unless the board is a part of the panel, in which case the panel needs to be swapped). These repairs

  • Re: Metz speaker on IFA

Isn't Metz a German company? I found Metz TVs (German) from Google but no mention of these copycat speakers. Is there another Metz in China? Do Metz TVs (metz-ce . de) have anything to do with the "MetzLab 50"? I'm pretty sure that if Metz (DE) sold this kind of copies of B&O products, they'd be sued to oblivion.

  • Beosound Edge - Reactions?
The way you wrote it made it seem that ABL was not possible without DSP, when in fact it has been done in the analog domain for a long time before B&O went to DSP driven speakers.
Indeed, BeoLab 8000 from the 1990's had ABL, as did most other BeoLabs from that time (4000, 6000, etc.) I do like the one-point-stereo-systems of today that rely heavily on DSP, but there's a caveat: digital processing errors, or comparable faults. Cases in point: the

  • Re: Another danish tv?

They should proof read their website. I found typos such as "uncomplicated stale of the art technology" quite funny for a company that aims for excellence in quality.

  • My B&O Home
Modern B&O is poor quality thats why Beovision avant which cost £5,000 in 2003 is selling on ebay for £25 and Beovision 5 which cost £13,000 in 2006 is selling on ebay now for £100. Where as the B&O stuff from 1970's is fetching £500 - £1,500.
Show me a BeoVision from 1970's that is fetching £500 - £1.500 today. Old BeoVisions (CRT and early plasma TVs) are obsolete technology today, hence the low prices. Speakers and audio systems from the

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE
There is a lot of software changes, the settings menu, how it turn off and its own adaptive light control.
Ambient light sensor is a standard feature of the LG C7. There is no B&O picture processing in the Eclipse.
