• Beoplay A6 (and others?) Chromecast Wi-Fi dropouts Workaround

Hi everybody, I found a workaround for Chromecast related Wifi dropouts of the Beoplay A6. My current firmware, Chromecast enabled, is: 1.15.17881.16477003 Was a firmware roll back from 1.15.17640.17856519 by B&O support to enable Chromecast again for my A6. The A6 (and maybe other devices?) is playing without any dropouts when added to a Google Cast audio group and not playing alone. No need for the other device to really play!, even a single Chromecast Audio dongle plugged in and added to the

Open Google Home, there you can join: https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/6343937?hl=en But keep in mind, how fast Chromecast starts depends much more on better or worse Chromecast implementation and programming of an application - might be your app.

David, if you don't have Chromecast related Wi-Fi issues ask B&O support to activate another Firmware version for your Beoplay A6. They released FW 1.15.17640.17856519 in December, which disables Google Cast. Having no Wi-Fi problems at all they activated FW 1.15.17881.16477003 for me, thus Google Cast is enabled again and works fine. You may try: Uninstall the Beoplay app from your phone. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and try pairing the E8 just via Bluetooth. Try several times and if it works: Go to your Note 8 sound settings and modify the sound there. Hope this helps, good luck!

David, sad to hear this. I bought the BS2 you recommended and I'm quite happy with it, so thanks again. Hoping this workaround will help you: I found a sulution for Chromecast related Wifi dropouts. • Re: Multiroom Issues

David, Chromecast creates his own wifi and by that you might get rid of router-wifi or B&O software related issues. Chromecast Wi-Fi created by a B&O speaker does NOT work. Faulty software. Chromecast Wi-Fi created by a dongle works for all speakers included in a group.

  • Re: Multiroom Issues

The above article matches Chromecast dongles software version numbers. Chromecast built in devices like the Essence, Beoplay A6/9, Beosound 1/2 speakers and others do not match beause the Chromecast feature is implemented and part of a software programme, in this case B&O software and different for each speaker. Further reading in case you are interested: https://developers.google.com/cast/docs/audio B&O software developers would need to adjust a software program including Chromecast, if
Hey guys, I have a Beosound Moment. It works mostly really well and did play FLAC until recently. I notice when I play my speakers without the Moment I get FLAC quality sound, but when I add the Moment it no longer plays the higher quality sound. Is there a way to roll back the update you guys mention that cause this? I just don't want to pay Deezer for a service I now no longer get. Thanks for your help. • Re: Android devices unable connect to Beoplay A9 via Bluetooth
If I want to connect to my A1, for what ever reason, geolocation service has to be turned on on my phone or tablet. Without this service turned on it's not possible to connect. B&O says that this is an android problem.
Not for me ... just tried it and disabled geolocation service on my Samsung Note 8, android 8. No issues at all. Connecting with my BS2 works flawlessly, no problems.

  • Re: Beolab8000 + Playmaker + non-B&O DAC = no sound ?

Looking into the Playmaker's manual I found (page 9) that the inputs are prioritized in hierarchy as follows: 1. AIRPLAY 2. DNLA 3. LINE IN Starting a source with higher priority will interrupt a source lower in hierarchy. Therefore a source with higher priority must be stopped first to hear a source lower in hierarchy. So I would try to uncheck and de-select the Playmaker in the Airplay List of your iPhone or iPad first and then start the line-in source again.
