• Re: 2.hand sound solution for bedroom
I agree with Christian above. I have myself a beocenter 6-26 used as Radio (with internal tuner), multiroom audio with an Airport Express on scart, and VOD with an Apple TV on DVI. I wake up with radio, live with multiform audio and go to bed with any episode of a TV show or movie. Simple, elegant, no cables (2 actually, hidden).
How does the Apple TV work? As I recall the Beocenter/Beovision 6 can’t decode HDCP-material?
The small 26” tv’s came as Beocenter as well including radio tuner if I am correct. I just last week picked up a BS1 cd/radio myself, but being a portable device from the 00’s it is actually quite a beast in size and weight. But plays like a charm.
I’ve had a 26” a couple of years ago, but found the size a bit too small . And I still haven’t made up my mind if I would like a tv in my bedroom. But how does the Beocenter respond if you turn the radio on?

  • 2.hand sound solution for bedroom

Dear wise BeoWorlders I am searching for a solution for my bedroom were I would like to listen, to radio and maybe internet radio. Right now I have a BeoTime alarm clock, but no Beosound/Beocenter/Beovision to wake up with it. I have found a couple of solutions that could be feasible, but I am still not certain of what the ideal solution would be. Right now I am tending to search for a cheap old Beosound 1, that suits my need for radio listening and IR-control. Another solution would be to search
Chromecast audio is a slam dunk! There is a more elaborate way where you cast to the FM radio.. Which is pretty cool and true multiroom!
Hi BEOVOX141 Could you post a link for that FM Transmitter? I have thought about something like that but only found 12V solutions for cars.

  • Beosound 8 - Faulty keypad

Dear Beoworld. I have bought a faulty Beosound 8, thinking that i could bring it back to life by ising an old iPhone with the 30-pin dock-connector. Luckily it did wake up the speaker. But the keypad didn’t light up. And the buttons on the keypad didn’t response to touches. I then decided to dismantle the Beosound 8. I found that the 20-pin flex cable connecting the keypad to the mains board had snapped. So I found a website selling flex cables and ordered what seemed to be the right cable. Today
Find out what the pitch and length is and goto Digikey.Com,- just to name one. Flat flex, Ribbon jumper cables. Another option is to simply replace the ribbon cable with regular soldered wires, not at the actual connector area but rather where you have some space to solder down the wire.. the signal usually originates somewhere a bit away from the connector.
Dear BEOVOX141 Thanks for the link. I will have a look there! I don’t want to try the soldering
Good news: I managed to repair the small ribbon cable myself, so the BS8 is now fully functional ! It was a real bargain. Paid 50€ for it in perfect condition. Only thing I paid extra were new batteries for 3€. Now I'm happy with my new toy Thanks again to all who helped. • Beosound 8 - broken 20 pin ribbon cable

Dear Beoworlders I bought a cheap but faulty Beosound 8 a month ago, thinking the problem would be the long time without usage, and that an old iPod would bring it to life. And it did. Sort of. The keypad had no control, and the light never came to life. The only control was on the old iPod. So I thought that I might as well turn it off and dismantle the hole thing. And just as I hoped. The ribboncable from the keypad to the main board had snapped out of its socket. So now I think I have diagnosed

  • Re: BeoVision 4-65: Good Idea to Buy Now?

I have a BV4-50 Full HD with a BeoSystem 3, which i bought about 2 years ago for about 550€. I still love the TV and the Beosystem 3, to which i later bought a Beolab 7-2. If the price is right I wouldn’t hesitate, but keep in mind that it is an old screen and that it might not lasts for many years to come.
