Thanks to Guy for his kind help with information etc.

I have now made up a conversion lead using a micro fit plug with attached cables and an 8 pin DIN line socket.

      And yes, it works!!!  😉

I am about to contribute a piece about the repair of the microfit plug on the rotating stand using Farnell parts and the conversion piece

Hopefully I have some photos to mount but my camera started playing up during the fabrications.

I will also outline a solution to the stand geometry and the viewing angle of the 10-40 tv

Currently the vertical angle for viewing is held by some cable ties around the pole and the rear bottom central cable mount at the base of the tv  —  it works but does not look good. I haven’t got a cable cover so not a problem.

Anyone out there got said cable cover they would be willing to part with for an exchange of funds  —  colour doesn’t matter!

      Cheers

As  far as I can see this should work, just need to solder the joints and heatshrink coloured covers on them   —   it will not be pretty but should work!!   😉

          So, the wire colours are

          1 Black

          2 Brown(?)

          3  Red

          4 Yellow

          5 Qrange

          6,7 and 8 not connected!

Again, thanks, the plug is broken in half so to speak, and, it is possible to see the wire cover colours.

So it would seen to be a fairly simple job to mount a new plug.

I had found some plugs linked to Amazon, so , later I will have another  look!

              Thanks for that Guy!

No , I think I will need to access the connections as the plug at the tv end is broken, so, I either need a new plug to mount myself or a complete cable.

Do you have any info about the tv end plug?

Guy, strangely, I have a dead BC9300 here, I had proposed spares or repair for it, so it is looking like spares currently!

Thanks for that suggestion Guy, have supposedly looked to no avail!

Thanks all for your inputs, a wonderful resource!

Now all set up and working, its been a longtime since I did the original system setup and the memory grows dim  ;-(

Ok, now got it working on V aux , v aux2 and pc thus making the tv, dtv buttons obselete on the beo 4 —  I recall that the buttons could not be reasigned , ie V aux ->  dtv etc  —  is that correct?

I will try the output of the TNT box into the aerial sockets to chech if the output is readable by the tv  —  any idea(s)?

Thanks for that, I acquired the documentation for the set last week, and sorting thro’ them yesterday it would appear that the DVB module fitted is the ‘T’ variant, the tv was originally supplied in 2009, and, has only had one owner!  All the docs are in french, can you supply links to english versions? My technical french is not good!

So, I assume that is the reason for the digital tuner not working.

Said digital tuner handbook indicates that it could be pin related  and there is a suggestion that it should be the same as the tv one.

                            The other problem is

                            I am wanting to connect a satellite box, a french terestrial box and a computer, the pc by the dvi, the other 2 by scart, when using av1 and 2 there is no option for to call up appropriate id’s, they are;

                            connections

                            av1    stb  v aux

                            av2   decoder

                            av3    none

                            av4    dvi i  pc

I have tried setting all to none and restarting things, all to no avail  —  I must be doing something wrong along the line.

I just thought default back to factory might give me a clean sheet to recommence so to speak!

Ok, thanks for all the info etc, just tried again with the options highlighted on both tv and dtv, using both Beo4 and also joystick Beo4 pushing left arrow x 2 then stop just returns to the tv and dtv screens.

I am wanting to reset the tv to default settings in the hidden menu, if i select this option, is it going to reset the pin pin code to factory setting? I do not know if my code is a user choice, assuming of course the pin code could be reset originally.

I want to do this as I am having problems setting up the tv to operate with a satellite box connected to an AV scart and the supposed dtv system will not tune any digital (TNT) stuff!

Sorry to have confused you all, I’m trying to remove the pin code on a bv7-32, the code on the 10-32 is already non existant!

Ok, tried the suggested route,  load tv setup page press left hand double arrows twice followed by stop, should get to a pin code page, mine does not do this, just goes back to tv screen,

                                    what am i doing wrong,

                                    I am using a non joystick Beo4

Thanks for that and the link, we have Bricodepot and castorama here a la frog – brico is equivalent to B&Q trade and Casto the std B&Q, Next time in either Quimper or Brest I will have a look for the cable trunking, the distibution thing, I think that will stay, however in another DIY chain they had some 2 pin plugs with horizontal cable exits, I will probably replace the existing with some, also the 10 way power block with an 8 way job

I realise it’s being a little nitpicky, but the system as is was installed over 10 years ago with the original BV7-32.

Talking of that, if I go into the engineering menus and reset the piece to factory default , will that delete any ancilliary programs installed or will they still be accessible?

So, got the tv working in my system, photos show thw progress made tidying up the cabling etc.

The room is open plan and the rear of the tv backs onto the dining area so its been a little involved.

It is acceptable for now, but i may need to shorten the scart interconnecting lead by about 30cms, something for the future!

Photos give an idea of it all!!

                                          Hi

Sorry about delayed response, the system did not like my login details!

The BC2 is a UK supplied piece and it does have DAB facilities. Here in France, no DAB service!

So, found the masterlink manual, and after reading the relevant section, I decided to go back to factory settings with both pieces, then chacked all the cabling and connections then reprogrammed both pieces , Op 2  – tv Opt 0 – BC 2 , switched them off and rebooted and hey presto it all works!

Well I say all works, the radio works, but the cd/dvd will load but not play, I suspect my next voyage of discovery will be to investigate the drive system, I haven’t looked as yet at the repair manual, is it belt or geared?

I will try to load some views of my installation later!

Thanks for all the assistance with my questions, I viewed the Beoplay, it was on a low frame stand, I wasn’t impressed!

Eventually sttled on a BV 10-32 in black and in excellent condition.#I realise the sound is a little challenged but is in a system which works very well, so well pleased, It is on a different level to the 7-32 it has replaced!

                                            Bonne fetes to all!
