So cable-wise there is some hope but remote-wise it’s a different story?

The fact that there’s no online evidence of someone who’s been able to pull this off on an old unit like this, seems like a bad sign.

Beolab 10 combined with a beosystem 3 would be the most obvious solution.

It’s just a pitty the AV9000 couldn’t be upcycled; on paper it would’ve been like a dream setup: a stand alone speaker with an integrated surround module. It just lacks the most basic modern inputs to make it workable I’m afraid.

Thanks Johan for trying to find a solution, much appreciated!

IMG_8939IMG_8940IMG_8941IMG_8942On the third photo you can see the connector for the standmotor and a masterlink cable which are both connected to the control unit.

            Thanks for your reply Johan.

I’ve read that the surroundmodule in the av9000 is non-digital and really supplies more of a pseudo-surround experience than a proper one.

Since the IR receiver is mounted on the screen, there is no (easy) way for me to just control the audio unit without the CRT.

Switching on the speaker unit without a connection with the screen results in an error code on the display on the speaker. The screen however functions without the control unit.

I’ll post some pictures in the evening when I’m home again.
