Thanks a lot for checking this out. As you suggested, it seems like I have been toggling loudness off and on.

Now its certain that local tone control is not possible, however, local loudness is also pretty cool  🙂

When studying the schematic, I see that loudness is handled by the digital volume control IC, TC9177

Thanks for the reply.
I also checked the circuitry, and came to the same conclusion.

Playing the main room sources, “sound” will certainly adjust the Beomaster.
However, sound x times seems to do something in “local mode”. (When main room BM is asleep) It appears to be one or two settings in addition to volume control.

At the moment I am using a local non-beo source (radio+shift+7) . This doesn’t allow two-way communication via Bl5000.

Maybe I should try to connect a data link compatible beogram or beocord.
