To recap a Beocord 5000, the following capacitors are needed:
Bipolar 16uF/40v X2
4000uF/25v X2
250uF/70v X1
ROE
4.7uF/63v X4
22uF/6.3 X1
47uF/16v X1
47uF/40 X1
100uF/16v X4
220uF/10v X1
220uF/16v X1

Thank you Peter. It took over 4 years, as the Beocord is very difficult to service, and you can’t test it without reassembling the entire unit. I find the 5000 such a beautiful cassette recorder, and am thrilled with the renewed sound quality. I appreciate your comment.

The sound quality went completely to bits. That is to say, it is terrible. I have a Beocord 8004, 9000, and 4500 and none required recapping to date. But one by one these 5000’s died. Worse, I had one of my three 5000’s recapped and it wasn’t enough. Plus one of my decks smells strongly of electronic burning even when turned off.
