    I’m back.

I replaced the IR eye and also the passive – Nothing!

I bought a new masterlink cable. Initially nothing.

I took a speaker out of the ceiling and and made a new connection to the passive (I had disconnected everything prior to this so needed to reconnect).

Bingo! Life. It seems to be the masterlink cable. (Although the left port speaker connection is also faulty)

However, the IR eye will not receive anything from my controller… Also, I can only listen to the radio.. when I select “CD” no sound is played.

    Any ideas? (Thanks)

If I press A.MEM on the beo4 the 9000 will turn on and display A.TAPE – I thought this option only responded if something was connected to it? ie many years ago I had a B&O TV connected to my system and pretty sure this ran off A.MEM

I have ceiling speakers connected to the passive in my kitchen and the 9000 is displayed on the wall there. My beolabs are destined for another room.

I do not have any speakers connected directly to the 9000.

Lead replaced with one from a B&O registered dealer. I will double check connections.

Thanks again Madskp – much appreciated

When I initially set up I had the beolabs playing by using the remote and then pressed play on the ir eye. After I disconnected the beloabs I used the remote to control the ir eye.

Only two things occurred between it working and not. I used the remote to turn on a non-b&o tv, and an electrician changed a dimmer switch.

The IR eye had a loose connection so I replaced the lead for a new one. I find it odd how the IR eye is receiving a signal from the remote (it blinks when I hold the OFF button or blinks when I follow the process you showed above) but cannot process a proper command. I am tempted to purchase another masterlink cable to see if it is the problem?

No, I could use them independently of each other. I ultimately disconnected the beloabs. It is a mystery eh!

I have attached some beolab 3 to the 9000 and they work fine.

No. I have tried rewiring everything many times. The passive is in the same room as my 9000 but it didn’t affect it previously. I can only think it is an issue with the master link cable not sending a message from the passive back to the 9000?

I also have a beo4 remote which I prefer to use. Bizarrely, the IR eye will not respond to either remote however, if I hold done the red “off” button on the remote for about 5 seconds the red light on the IR eye blinks..

    Hi,

I have a similar issue. I have a 9000 connected to a passive and ir eye. The IR eye and passive were working fine.. then… I used my BEO5 to turn on my Samsung tv. After this my eye no longer responds to the remote or touch (ie using the buttons on the eye). I have unplugged everything a million times and replaced the cable for the eye. Any ideas? Thanks
