Dear All,
I hope you’ve had a great start to 2025! Thank you again for your helpful recommendations before I decided to buy the Beolab 18. 🙂
At the moment, my Beolab 18 speakers are running with the Beoconnect (wired). The app can be a bit buggy sometimes, but most of the time, I just use the Spotify app. I’ve adjusted the distance settings for the speakers to my listening position but left everything else as it was. When I open the app, it shows “Audiomodus,” and when I click on it, I see different sound modes. At the moment, it only offers “Optimal,” and I’m happy with this mode. I wonder why it isn’t always the default, though—it’s the only mode I have, as I haven’t created any custom settings.
What are your experiences with Moviesound (Netflix) and HDMI? For me, the speech clarity isn’t great. I tried watching a movie for a few minutes but was a bit disappointed. In this case, I feel like the Sonos Arc with a subwoofer performs much better. What are your thoughts or do you have any tips to improve this? At the moment the Arc went back on the sideboard but I would love to get rid of it 🙂
I’ve attached a couple of pictures. The oak front looks amazing and matches our living room perfectly!
The cables will be neatly redone next week—I’ve already ordered some white cable sleeves and a new power strip, which are on the way.
While typing, I had another question: the Beoconnect doesn’t have a physical “on/off” button. My Samsung TV, Sonos Arc, both Beolab 18 speakers, and the Beoconnect are all connected to a power strip that I control via Wi-Fi to switch on and off. Could this setup cause any issues with the Beoconnect or the Beolab 18? I’d prefer not to leave them plugged 24/7 in with constant power – want to reduce the power consumption.
Looking forward to hearing your feedback!
Best regards,

I did it. I just placed the order with my B&O dealer. It will be the Beolab 18 in stainless steel and oak, along with the Beoconnect Core. As you recommended, I’ll skip the transmitter and connect everything to the Core with cables.
I’m already excited to hear how the TV sound will perform and whether we’ll end up selling the soundbar and subwoofer. Otherwise, I’m certain the B&O will bring me immense joy when listening to music.
I’ll keep you updated once the sideboard is downsized and the speakers are set up. Delivery is scheduled just before Christmas. 🙂

Many thanks for your responses, which are much appreciated. Have you tried the BL8?
I have a very interesting offer for the BL18. The BL8 I never tried. 🙁 I would get the 18 cheaper than the 8 so my decision was to go for the 18.
If I want want to extend the setting with the BL19 sub I would need the transmitter, right? The position would be behind the Couch other side of the room.
The first idea was just for stereo music but I would love to get rid of the Sonos Soundbar and Sub. So if they are doing a good job I would be happy to get rid of the Soundbar and Sub. Are you using these for TV?
Best greetings
Daniel
