    Here are a couple of photos of the problem.  I am guessing that the PCB should somehow be connected to the windings of the motor possibly using the three solder pads on the PCB.

    I don’t think that my dad ever had the CD50 working and he bought it about 20 years ago so the problem doesn’t come as a surprise to me.

    Grateful for any help

    It seems that the CD50 spindle motor windings are now not connected to anything, I’m presuming that there must be some connections from the motor windings to the machine.  So no wonder the motor wasn’t working.  Can anyone advise what to do next or perhaps somone has a spare spindle motor for a CD50 in their storage bins somewhere or perhaps someone would be able to rewind my current broken motor.

    Thanks Madskp,

    I have cleaned the motor but it now doesn’t run at all previously it did run at least a little bit, I’ll take it apart again today to see if anything changes at all.
