I think is was situated on the axle  between the pulley and the engine, or inside the engine also on the axle between lower bearing and anchor. Not essential.

In the 1001 housing                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Red is hot right

        White is hot left

blue and green are earth, to be mounted together

Blank copper wire = general earth

In the DIN plug, Red or black is Right, point 5 of dinplug. White is hot Left on point 3 .   Thin copper wire is earth cartridge on point 2 (middle pin)  Big copper wire is general earth to metal housing Dinplug

the 1900 engine is difficult to take apart, the red disc that regulates the speed icw the magnets is hard to remove and not replacable. I have restored a lot os 1900 100 and 3400 players an almost always good greasing will sove the problems in case of low speed. The upper bearing can be greased with spraying good quality oil on the axle under the red disc, just a bit, let in stay for a while and let the engine turn and see what happens. The lower bearing? Simply drill a very small hole acentric in the plastic that holds the bearing and inject a little oil in it. Do this only when you dare to do it! Success 80%!

This is a mechanical problem, and you must be a real technician to solve it, take of the “frictionsplatte” part nr. 93 and ten look when you move the tonearm the part nr 104 is moving also. if not, that is the problem!

a 12 inch 45 record can only be played in a primitive way, put the disco-lp on, grab the tonearm and move it to where a single normally begins, start the player on 45 rpm and wait until the automatic system is completed, then move the tonearm to the 1st grove of the lp format single and sink it carefully!

The sinking position of the tonearm is simple to be adjusted, take of the lp platter and remove the thin black cover below it. Then you see what is on my added picture. The left adjustmentscrew (B) is to the LP size, turn it a bit  (½ turn!) anticlockwise and the tonearm sinks a bit to the left, if not ok, see what happens and repeat action.

The single size is the right screw A

also the inside cylinders of the coils that activate the slides on the commando wheels must be cleaned from dust, take them out and blow them clean.

always start with removing the 3 switches, the clickclack one’s, they cause a lot of trouble. Clean them in ultrasonic bath. Replace all elco’s. Then most troubles will be gone.
