Hi all and a happy new year!
I pulled out my Beogram 8000 from storage a couple of months ago and plugged it in. The carriage moves completely to the end of the rail and doesn’t stop. I can hear the motor still trying with quite some force. When I lifted the black plate under the tonearm I could see a yellow and purple cable are cleanly severed.
Does anyone know what these cables do?
How difficult would it be to fix these?I’m actually looking to get rid of this 8000 as I have my 8002 and 4000. It’s a shame if it doesn’t work because I’ll basically have to let it go as junk despite it being overhauled several years ago.
