BRONZE MemberHello,
I have been thinking about getting into B&O, I like the designs and they are supposed to sound ok (I have never heard them before).
I am setting up a living room area with 5.2.4 surround sound. I already have the subs and in ceiling speakers. For the reciever I was thinking something like Onky rz series, but that’s not too important for this conversation I think.
I was hoping I could get suggestions for a 5 speaker bed layer. I was thinking 2000’s or newer equipment, what would work for good for this application? I would say 80% movies and 20% music. I was thinking something like 8000’s for fronts, 6000’s for rear, but I am not sure about a center channel in that case. I am also thinking maybe the 6000’s are too big for rear’s for wife approval factor. Looking for suggestions. Whats good bang for buck used? What do people do for the center channel? Does everything integrate into a normal receiver for atmos?
The room in under construction so I cant get pictures right now.
Thanks

BRONZE MemberI have a media room / bar / lounge set up with BL8000’s in front, BL7-2 as a center, BL6000’s in the rear, with a BL2 sub. It’s all powered by an older Beosystem 3 and connected to a BS9000. As I’m all in the B&O ecosystem, I can’t comment on using a third party receiver. I really enjoy the sound – full with deep bass thanks to the sub, and clear vocals with 7-2 center. Just wish the BS3 could handle 4k…
The BL6000’s sort of disappear in the room, as the footprint is small and the aluminum helps it blend in from the side. If I change the fabric covers to something lighter, it would make a huge difference, but I prefer the traditional black fronts. My BL2 is hidden at the end of the sofa.
