Well done: They look like Bang & Olufsen and not like one of the 1000 brands out there in the wild. I like the design very much! The aluminium case is very nice, too!
Regarding the price:
I think they will get the “standard internet hate comments” on various websites as it seems common nowadays. Sadly. As much as I love Bang & Olufsen but their current management should overthink their pricing strategy to keep the company in the market. 🙂
23 September 2025 at 15:33 #69865BRONZE MemberI looked at the ad and thought that they look really nice! Reminds me of the A8 headphones that I had. The leather carry-pouches are very nice too. I have absolutely no touch with the other brands if it’s a common thing but the case doubling as an audio transmitter sounds like a nice feature.
I was contemplating on the idea of “I might even like to buy those, as a celebration for the 100th anniversary” but now that I looked at the price; nope.

GOLD MemberAmazing Grace, how sweet the sound …

BRONZE MemberThis new product looks interesting, but I think it’s more for iPhone consumers who are looking for differentiation. Unfortunately, the new AirPods with the embedded heart-rhythm sensor and best-in-class noise cancellation will likely kill the earphone market.
Also, I’m a bit puzzled by B&O’s strategy: this year marks the company’s 100th anniversary, and so far this is one of the only high-end products they’ve released (and I’d bet it’s made in Asia). By contrast, Leica is also celebrating its 100th anniversary and has already organized several exhibitions, released limited-edition products, and more.
I might be wrong, what s your opinion?

BRONZE MemberIt’s hard to compete with chip-designing and class-leading (apple/sony) earphones (eg. noice-cancelling, multi-point pairing, battery-life, software and build), however they could compete in audio quality — but by how much? B&O is technical handicapped in this category of products, and don’t start about the software/app ; the experience (eg. interface design, feel, speed) are abysmal. Though i’d like to have/save for these.

BRONZE MemberThey are indeed made in China. I’m also waiting for something special for the 100th birthday, to complete my « celebration collection » (which is only composed of A9 « 90th special edition » 😀)

FOUNDER MemberI was flying through Kastrup and had a chance to demo these. Beta version of the firmware, obviously, but they sounded quite nice. They were demonstrated with spatial/Atmos music, which isn’t quite my taste, but I thought they were great otherwise.
They are of course on the AirPods model, but with a satisfying heft and solidness that contrasts with the plastic of Apple’s earbuds. (Disclaimer: I use both regular AirPods and AirPods Pro every day and think they are some of the best things Apple’s ever produced.) The solidity doesn’t feel too heavy or uncomfortable — but it does give them a nicely different feel from other earpods.
The price will be what most folks take away from this product, of course, — and not in a good way. I suspect many will be bought on international transit to save the VAT/MOMS for participating countries. They offered me a chance to do so on a pre-order basis, but I’ll be back in Denmark in December and will take another listen then.
Sorry this is short on audio details; my takeaway was “really quite good” in terms of playback quality.
