BRONZE MemberHi all,
Hope this isn’t too presumptuous for my first post!
This thing is giving me a bit of a headache and I’m wondering if anyone has seen a similar issue with their MX4-7000.
Some of the horizontal lines are skewed to the right side in an uneven manner but the picture is pretty stable. If I take a look in the service menu, the horizontal phase and frequency settings have no effect and neither do any of the 3 E/W settings. Settings related to the vertical appear to work fine.
I recapped the PSU/Deflection board recently, checked it over with a microscope and reflowed some of it. TR33 was also replaced. No change whatsoever.
Last night I pulled it apart again and began checking caps with an in-circuit ESR meter. Apparently those on the Sync board look OK but I’ve not checked any further at this stage. Tempted to recap the whole thing but I’d rather be confident that’s actually going to solve the issue.
Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all 👍

BRONZE MemberI can’t help you with the solution.
But for older products I often go to this website to find the service manuals.
I dont find any for MX7000 but there is one for 6000 and 8000. If I remember correctly the only difference between 6000 and 7000 were the more powerful speaker system in 7000.
Maybe the information there will help you to identify the root cause.
Good luck.
