After replacing my old Beomaster 5000 with a smooth looking Beomaster 7000, can I just plug the existing MCL82 network straight in?  I heard there may be some adapter required.

Hello. I know that there was an adapter for controlling the Beomaster 5000 with a Beolink 1000 remote control, but not sure if there was an adapter the other way.

If there was it might be hard to find it nowadays.

If you wan’t to reuse your cables (in the walls?) you could use the with the newer MCL2 system if you can find the relay boxes also known as MCL2A type 2046 or 2047 with IR tranciever https://beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=977or MCL X-tra Speakers kit https://beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=974 which might have the same type numbers

In addition you will also be able to use the MCL2AV https://beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=978 that makes it possible to use active speakers in a link room and have separate volume control in the rooms with that unit.

Also the Beolab3500 MK1 https://beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=373 with MCL connector can be used in an MCL 2 system.

Of course none of these products can be found new anymore, so you will have to source them in used condition.

An just to mention it you Beomaster 7000 can also be connected to the newer Masterlink system with the use of a Beolink 1611 converter. This will give more possibilities for Link room equipment, but will require new cabling.
