    Hi,

I’m working on a Beomaster 4400 which is in really nice condition but unfortunately the volume slider is quite badly worn between vol settings 3 and 6.

I’m tempted to dismantle it and see if I can clean it up and repair it – perhaps with carbon ink/paint but I’d really like to have a backup replacement in case I completely ruin it.

Has anyone had any luck restoring one?

I can’t find a compatible new replacement so I think it’s salvage or nothing.

Rather than risk trashing it I’m more tempted to re-index it to shift it’s normal area of operation higher into the region of the slider that’s still good.

    Would appreciate any thoughts/advice.

    Cheers!

    Steve

Just had a look in my cannibalised BM4000 and it there is a volume slider still in there, looking at the manuals in here it looks like the 4000 slider is 20k and not 10k……however the manual for the 4400 also shows the slider to be 2ok…..i could desolder it and send it to you at cost if you can confirm your requirements?
