I have a CD 3300 which was working fine last year (after I replaced the door gear and belt), but has been sitting in a closet between then and now. After removing it from storage it doesn’t work, spins up then shows the ? error. I want to inspect the solder joints, but the servo and decoder boards don’t want to come out after removing the screws. I thought at least the servo board could be flipped up and the connector(s) unplugged? I can’t get it to lift at all. Am I missing something? Do I need to remove a top panel to get access to the boards?

You will have to release the ribbon cable running to the laser block from its socket on the pcb.
This can be tricky – particularly because the cable will almost certainly break at the sharp corner where it’s secured, if pulled.Martin
