I recently bought a Beovision 10-40 sort of locally for around £350, also 2 x BL 8000’s for £250 but that’s another story!
The tv came with a remote and and a low stand, on which the stand control plug(that plugs into the tv) was broken. – see photo
After lots of investigation I found the Farnell could supply the plug and variants thereof, one of which was made up of 2 x plugs wired together with a cable length of 30cms (they also do one 100cms long)

I ordered an assortment – see photo.
To mount the new plug I had cut open the end to investigate the possibility of reuse. Eventually cut the cable free with wire tails about 2cms long.
Thanks to Guy supplying a schematic of the microfit plug and cable connections, the cable colours did not confirm to that of the original.
Examining the new plug I decided to try to demount the cables from it, achieved by using a fine sewing needle up the outer edge of the sides, this bent in the ‘ears’ securing the socket.
Thus all cables apart from the black one were removed.
The said ears were then gently bent out using a scalpel and the coloured wires were then remounted according to the B&O layout — which when the white locking pieces proved them all to be very secure.
Tails were made 5cms long, various piece of heatshrink were slid on and the colour coded wires were soldered together, heat shrink then slid over the joints heated and then the cable was tested with the tv , it worked.
BV 10 – 40 on a high BV7 – 32 stand
The 10-40 was mounted on a 7-32 high stand so a mismatched connection.
I had previous colour aligned the spare plug and with Guy’s diagrams I was able to make up a short conversion lead using an 8 pin DIN line socket on which I had removed pins3, 5, and 7 to facilitate easier soldering, again various pieces of heatshrink were used to isolate connections etc.
I tested it using the high stand and and the tv, that also worked!
The next piece to make will be a shelf for my satellite box and a turnbuckle system between the tv and the STB tube bracket, although the box might not be required if I receive a +ve response to a question in the Bovision section.
