Hello all, new member here. Just thought I’d share my B&O-inspired aesthetic designed amplifier case. It has a large 190 mm integrated volume potentiometer and acts as a heat sink with lower convection cooling. I recently rebuilt and modified a set of CX100’s and connected them in parallel to a passive subwoofer. After their rebuild, I was taken aback by the enormous soundstage and overall presentation, that I had to design an amplifier case to match the aesthetics that B&O is known for….

Although I hate to break it to you but you’re not really listening to CX100s by the looks of it, as they appear to be far from original.
21 February 2024 at 17:25 #52721I’ve owned quite a few classic Beovox and I have to say these are the best imaging and midrange-detailed for their size. I have another set that I will do the exact same modifications to. I have built custom baffles out of solid alloy and it is the go-to medium in my opinion.
Again, kudos to B&O for the quality of alloy they used in making these back in the day. They simply need a layer of dampening applied internally to make them almost dead-quiet.

Thank you Tig. I usually don’t build anything unless it is “nukeproof”.
I’m taking the design further and adding balanced inputs with another TPA3255 with PFFB. One of the best sounding amps I’ve heard to date.

Now you need to visit a shop with a Laser engraver to add the last bit of perfection 😉
