BRONZE MemberHi,
Does anyone else have a problem with their Core crashing for no apparent reason? Mine crashes on a regular basis, on average every two weeks but sometime twice or thrice in one week. I reported this to my local B&O dealer a couple of months ago and they gave me a replacement. However, this one crashes regularly too. When it happens, I unplug the device and reconnect it a few seconds later. After a minute or so, it is back to normal. It’s an irritating problem and I’m interested if it affects anyone else.
Thanks.
Stephen

Whether I’m on wifi or ethernet makes no difference.
Location: Switzerland30 May 2025 at 18:07 #65936BRONZE MemberSo you tested both? Whats it doing when it crashes?

BRONZE MemberYes, tested it both with wifi and ethernet. When it crashes, the music just stops. The Halo can no longer find it; says it’s offline. The only solution seems to be to reboot the Core.
Location: Switzerland30 May 2025 at 18:27 #65939BRONZE MemberWhats the music source? basically what I am trying to figure out is that if the core is streaming music from online and there is some internet drop out or issue the core could get confused and crash.

BRONZE MemberI stream only with Deezer or with my personal DLNA library. I don‘t use other streaming services and I never listen to radio.

BRONZE MemberI should add that I often listen to music from Deezer or Bandcamp or Apple Music by airdrop, as opposed to using the B&O app, through the Core. Makes no difference; it crashes regardless of source
Location: Switzerland30 May 2025 at 18:51 #65942BRONZE MemberGreat. but all of it is dependent on your router/hub/network if its deezer or airplay. Maybe attach something to the line in of the core that doesn’t use network at all and see what happens.
Normally I would say something is defective but if you got a replacement and there is no reported problems of this happening it could be caused by something on your end.Location: Toronto, Canada30 May 2025 at 19:29 #65943Stephen
BRONZE MemberThanks for your suggestions. I do appreciate your time and input.
My audio setup is very simple and I haven’t owned a TV for >20 years. I have the Core, Halo, MacBook and iPhone as my music system, sourcing Deezer, DLNA, Bandcamp or Apple Music. Apart from an old 9000 multi-CD player that is independent of the ether, that’s it! I don’t know what else I could connect to the ethernet cable.
My suspicion is that the Core might be susceptible to small power surges in the domestic electrical circuit. Nothing else connected to my router or wifi has a single problem. In fact, the only problems I ever have are with B&O devices… or their inconsistent, often crappy app!

…in order to see, if the Core still drops out, when it does not depend on your wifi or ethernet connection.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, the core crashes are sporadic and unpredictable, usually a week or two apart; it would be totally impractical as my Mac gets moved around a lot.

FOUNDER MemberIm going to assume this is a BeoConnect Core (Mozart) and not a Beosound Core ( ASE) your talking about?
Additionally, what is the Core connected to? Sources/equipment/Loudspeakers etc?

BRONZE MemberIt’s a Beosound Core wire-connected to a pair of Beolab 1 loudspeakers that have worked flawlessly for 20 years.

FOUNDER MemberOk, thanks.
i cant unfortunately help you with that. I am aware of sometimes the BC core fails to trigger the Shape (on but mute) from time to time and is cured be hard reboot of both (Shape first).

BRONZE MemberStill, I appreciate the efforts. Thanks all.
It’s annoying but, if I disconnect then reconnect the Core, it works fine… Until the next time it crashes in a week or two… 😀
