BRONZE MemberMaybe more of a BeoMaster issue, but since its a Phono topic, I thought I should post here. Feeling slightly at a loss, must be missing something simple.
I can’t get sound through Phono input on my BM6500. I’m using an external phono pre to enable a non-B&O deck. Wired the RCA to DIN connector as I always do, L+R on pins 3 and 5, and ground on pin 2.
This is the input of the BeoMaster and seems to agree with the above pinout.
My BM doesn’t have the RIAA module (I checked). What am I missing?-

BRONZE MemberYour photo shows a female input of your BM, which should mate with a male DIN5/7 plug, which should be wired as in the attached photo. Attached photo shows the back of the DIN plug (solder view). If all of this is correct, it does seem that the DIN plug wiring pinout should be reversed as in a mirror image, to match your BM input plug. Also, check on your DIN plug if you have wired also the plug housing…

BRONZE MemberThanks, Nebojsa. Usually following the pin labeling on the rean DIN 5 connector is good guidance, but not this time around.
I did throw on an aux cable from Steve, that one at least works so I will compare pin outs later today!

BRONZE MemberFYI – problem resolved. Was having a senior moment! As you mentioned, Nebojsa, it was a matter of the wrong pins. All good now!
