Hello all!
I got a hold of a pair of s45’s, first generation (6302), and I really enjoy them, sound is amazing, especially after recapping them with the set recommended by Martin/Dillen.
However there is an imbalance between them, the center stage is always of towards one side. The side moves with the speaker if I swap them. So it is not in the amp or in the wires, not in the source, it’s one speaker kicking out a tad less volume than the other. All speaker elements seem to produce sound, tweeter, midrange and woofer on both speakers.
What could result in this? Is it something with the crossover? Could it be a resistor or something? This is my first time dabbling with electronics in a speaker so I am clueless, it didn’t get worse by me recapping them though so that’s a plus.
Pic attached of the “lesser” speakers crossover post recapping.
