Beovox M75: How to connect overload-terminals?

I am renovating a pair of Beovox M75 and found that the overload-diodes has been disconnected (grey/brown wires cut).

To me it seems like there is missing some sort of connector inside the cabinet (see attachment), that should have been between the terminals and the wires coming from the crossover filter.

Is it correct that somekind of connector is needed here? I am asking because I can’t find any traces of soldering, so I am not sure what should be done
