My client brought me 2 Beovox M100-2
1- Both have a failed “Filter” speaker (the one directly above the woofer). The coil is open. Are there are any recone kits available?
2- The main reason he brought them to me is distortion on low frequencies. I checked the woofers and both are fine. What I found is that the tweeters are receiving low frequency information and distorting. This might be why the “filter” speaker failed.
I plan on replacing the electrolytic caps on the crossover as they are original. However I tested a few and they are within spec.
I don’t work with crossovers very often, so I’m curious if anyone has experienced this before.
