Arthur Vink
BRONZE MemberHi all,
as of today my Beovision 7-40mk5 decided to stop reading blu-rays 🙁
Is there a way to see if the laser can be cleaned? I read the DVD and BD laser are two seperate diodes. Or is it a matter of replacing the entire module? not looking forward to that…
Thanks

ModeratorHi Arthur, I too have the same model Beovision and I too have the same issue with Blu-ray discs – albeit mine has just started being a bit reluctant to read some discs but will read others. I fear it’s only a metter of time before it ceases reading BD’s altogether though so I’m keen to find out how you resolve this.
I plan to shine a light inside the drive unit to see if any of the optics are reachable with slim cotton bud and some IPA. If I find a suitable solution or fix I’ll let you know.
(We’re both dreading it being down to a faulty capacitor…I know)Julian
