I have a Beosystem 4/Beovision 12-65 combo and I’d just like to ask about connecting to an external WiiM streamer.
So I have managed to connect my WiiM via the SP/Dif input using a coaxial cable and activated the port on the menu. It works like this.
However…
the menu won’t let me set it up under “Music” and it forces going under “TV” by default.
In practice it’s not just a menu issue as the tv screen is always turned on when I select the input. I can scroll to “screen off” on the Beoremote one but that’s an extra step.
Any workaround ? I just want to stream music onto my set up without turning on the TV screen.
I believe it’s possible to connect via the 9-pin mini Din port also but that’s an analogue connection.
from what I understand SP/Dif is designed to take audio from a source like a PC so you have the video plug in elsewhere but you have the digital audio too and that’s why the screen turns on.
