I have installed beoaund theatre and with the lg tv. I have connected the lab9 as front speakers, lab 2 for subwoofer and lab 3’s as back speakers the problem I’m having is the rear speakers I connected them to a powerlink splitter then 8 pin to rj45, made sure they are left and right, but I only see one on the app, im not sure what I’m missing
4 September 2023 at 16:11 #48632Hi,
The RJ45 Splitter. I assume this is OEM B&O part? I tried cheap once with an Ethernet splitter…and they dont work.
Recheck the L/R switching. It may also be worth test the Line-in selection.
Recheck that everything is locked in
May be worth trying to disconnect the BL9s and use their cables to ascertain the Theatre/BL3s can be seen on separate lines?
Try connecting the the BL3 surrounds without the BL2 (I assume this is what you are doing). The daisy-chaining of the Lab2 can come later.
For the record, I had plenty of fun getting over what you are going through right now. It just needs some methodical approach to figure-out what is causing the problem (Splitter box, cables, switching) and then it comes all right.
Hope this helps?
4 September 2023 at 22:38 #48633hi
thanks for the reply, yes they are the Oem parts, I have taken the. I have plug in the speakers as follows pl 1 lab 9 pl2 lab 9 pl3 lab 2 pl4 lab 3’s into powerlink splitter then powerlink to rj45 I can get the test tone for all the speakers but it only shows 1 lab 3 but it I can select left and right surround in the app as it only shows 1 lab which I can only make left or right. Is it possible for the app to display the two rear speakers
5 September 2023 at 00:08 #48634Then adding your speakers to the Speaker Connections routine do you get this….
I’ve added a BL3 but it’s showing a blank grey square (for some buggy reason). I can add another BL3 below it. Do the same with the bl9s and figure out the bl2 later
See if the theatre auto detects and it will ask you to identify L and R speakers
Other than that, I’m running out of ideas from my keyboard and blind to the subject matter.
5 September 2023 at 09:04 #48635As I recall when I had a similar issue was making sure to add each BL3. It’s not always abundantly clear on a phone screen. I have a rj45 splitter too.
5 September 2023 at 09:43 #48636Hi
Thanks for that image, that is the problem I’m not getting the plus icon on my set up, so I can only presume that maybe there is an issue with the powerlink splitter. I will change the connector to the newer rj45 to powerlink splitter and check the Powerlink cables.
5 September 2023 at 16:19 #48637As indicated previously, use the BL9 cables and swap over so you don’t have a splitter. If you can add the BL3s then it’s the splitter.
I have not ever added a BnO sub…so I wonder if that can be selected as a sub in the setup, and you split-off the BL3s from the sub? It might not be great for placement but it helps identify where the trouble is
5 September 2023 at 16:39 #48638Hi
Is it possible for me to remote into the unit as not at the property for the next three weeks but I have a guest staying there and don’t want him to touch the settings?
5 September 2023 at 21:51 #48639I actually spoke to the supplier about plugging in the beolab 3’s into the lab and then one cable plugging into the theatre but they advised against it. I won’t be back there for a few weeks so will need to wait. As per my previous reply if you where able to remote into the unit from outside the house then I could check it. I really appreciate your info on this
5 September 2023 at 22:27 #48640Answer is no. No consumer way to access the Theatre. If you had remote access to your home router, the ip access has no control. The only access to “settings” of the Theatre is via your account in the BeoApp. The BR1 can control some settings for viewing only as far as I am aware.
