Hello ladies and gents,
since yesterday I have upgraded from a beosystem 4 to a beosound theater. Beosystem 4 was connected to an Atlona switch and was feeding both a projector and an LG gx. Connecting the Theaterto the switch does not work in many ways (no CEC, no signal, etc). Does anyone know any HDMI splitter that would work with the Theater (CEC, ARC, HDR, 4K)?
Thanks in advance
Anastasios
4 March 2023 at 12:26 #44298do you have a switch, a splitter or a matrix currently?
i.e what are you looking for ideally?
I imagine you already know that the Theatre does not have matrix integration in the way that previous BVs/Beosystems did?
4 March 2023 at 12:58 #44299If you are just looking for switching between the tv and the projector……and you have all sources connected through the Theatre, I imagine that any modern 2.0 HDMI splitter will do the job.
Which switch from Atlona did you use?

4 March 2023 at 13:22 #44300Hello again and thank you for the replies.
I already know that the Theatre does not support matrices and I suppose the best solution for me would be a splitter. I have already tried to use my current Atlona switch (AT-UHD-SW-52) but I get no communication between the Theatre and the LG (although I get communication between the Theatre and the projector (epson)). Furthermore I get no picture at all from the LG (although I get picture on the projector). I get no audio from the LG. I played around with the EDID settings, the autoswitch, etc but no luck. I have tried different cables but still the problems persist. It seems that the LG will work only if it is directly connected to the Theatre.
I run all my sources (apple tv and nvidia shield pro) through the theatre so all I need is a splitter that has two mirrored outputs, cec passthrough, earc, 4k, and hdr.
Last but by no means least I tried a ugreen switch which has all the above except mirrored outputs (you need to press a button to switch from one output to the other) but again no luck…
Any ideas?????
4 March 2023 at 15:01 #44301hmm, not sure.
I had / have an HDMI matrix setup here – serving 2 room, where I have swapped both Beovisions for 2 theatres with LG attached.
I get picture and control (PUC / i.r) to both Theatres of whatever the matrix is outputting. What the Theatre cannot do (in contrast to prior BV’s) is to allow the BR1 to pick different sources / outputs from the HDMI matrix.
I leave the matrix outputting my main source (SKY set top cable Tv box), and if I need to watch something else on my Theatre(s) I use the Matrix app/webpage to change source. Its not perfect and a step back wards.
But I guess the relevant point for you is that I do have something working (at least in a watching source / controlling source via PUC). With a matrix setup the PUC commands (in this case from my Theatre PUC cable) is passed back to the matrix, which passes them on to the Sky STB (just as if the STB was connected directly to the Theatre).
So presumable your Atlona switch has an HDMI output which you have connected directly to the Theatre? I dont understand why that wouldn’t work – at least in showing you the source picture?
4 March 2023 at 16:13 #44302Hello again,
I did some rearrangements to the connections and I managed to get the Atlona switch to work. Both sources (apple tv and shield) are showing now but HDR is not available. CEC works with no problem at all. I bought a ugreen switch which supports HDR and boom everything works! There are two issues which remain unsolved though.
Issue nr1: No eARC support so no sound from sources connected to the TV (this includes the apps such as netflix)
Issue nr2: Switching from one display to the other is done manually.
I will continue the search for the switch that would match all the critiria and keep you posted.
Thanks for the replies!

29 November 2023 at 02:30 #44303Has anyone found a working solution to this scenario? Despite a lot of research, I have not been able to find any eARC capable HDMI switches on the market. The closest I found is this which does support ARC (as opposed to eARC). Not perfect but it might at least allow us to get compressed 5.1 and stereo audio from an LG TV back to the theatre, e.g. for OTA TV.
Alternatively, if ARC is not possible in any meaningful way, has anyone found a (non-ARC) matrix switch that could be integrated with BLI+BR1?
