    Top of the Morning lads.

I have newly bought an Eversolo Play streamer to integrate with my Beosound Core through a coaxial to toshlink converter. The converter should work up to 192 kHz. When playing hi-res 24-bit 192 kHz my speakers make a lot of noise. From my Beosound Core I use powerlink cables to my Beolab 9’s. I think I read somewhere that the Beosound Core was reduced to Play up to 96  kHz when output is optical, but I use powerlink as output. Does anybody know where the problem lies? Are my coaxial- or toshlink cable too cheap , is the converter faulty or are my powerlink cables too thin?

When playing e.g. 96 kHz there is no problem.

Hope someone has encountered something similar or has the Knowledge to solve this.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I have a similar problem with my setup which includes Core and BL50s.

I suppose that you feed the Core through it’s optical input and assume that the Core’s toslink input has the same limitations.

Here is an explanation found in the Beolab 50 technical guide:

    13.10 Optical input not working

The Optical input will not accept sampling rates above 96 kHz due to unreliability of an optical digital audio connection at higher sampling rates.

    Regards,

    Yann.
