    Hello,
I have a BeoSound 9000 MK2 and after reading this forum, was under the impression the laser was defective. I have since purchased 2 replacements from a reputable source, yet the problem has not been solved (see attached video for current behavior – similar to what happened before, except for the fact that the spinning lasts longer). Before this happened, there was a gradual decline in performance, where the system had to “warm up” before music started playing.

Beyond the laser, what could be the cause of this problem?

Hi Chris , your BS 9000 looks like mine did before it needed a new laser. I dropped mine into a repair place in Nice which I had not used before earlier this year. The first thing the guy said was โ€œah my old friendโ€ when he saw the box. Places that do repair these are very familiar with them. I have no suggestions as to why two replacement lasers would not work.

What country are you in ?

If it won’t read the CD, the main suspect would be capacitor C2103. It’s a 33uf capacitor.
