    Hi,

I’m trying to edit the Beosound 5 radio channels. Firstly, I got the radio.db file from the Beomaster 5 by firstly going into the service menu, then getting the file located in E:/cache/data.

I have a list of direct links to radio stations used by the BBC here (in HLS):

    https://garfnet.org.uk/cms/tables/radio-frequencies/internet-radio-player/bbc-national-and-local-radio-hls-streams/

I then edited the file using a database editor and altered the station table with the BBC Radio 4 urls column to be

    https://lstn.lv/bbcradio.m3u8?station=bbc_radio_fourfm%22&bitrate=128000%22

This link worked on my computer (I altered to bitrate to 128,000 as I heard that the beomaster 5 couldn’t handle higher streams somewhere…

I then saved the file, put the new one back into the location of the old one and rebooted the beomaster 5.

    Unfortunately, it didn’t work 🙁

I’ve tried with HLS and DASH streams – and downloading firefox 13 onto the Beomaster 5, I tried opening the stream – this didn’t work because it wasn’t happy with the https, so I changed the link to http – and it got the playlist, but couldn’t play it . I tried the link in the installed Windows Media Player and it said it couldn’t handle a m3u8 file.

I guess the issue is with the codec support in the OS and not being able to recognise a m3u8 playlist file
