GOLD MemberCan anyone tell me it it’s possible to ‘reset’ a Beosound 3200? Mine will record CDs to the HDD but will not play them – if I try to play from HDD it says ‘HDD Lock’ in the display.
I’ve tried Testmode 37 (from the service manual) which should reset it, but it just shows ‘TM Error’ when I try that, and also the service manual says that TM37 doesn’t reset the HDD anyway.

GOLD MemberHave you tried testmode 27?
If I read the servicemanual correctly this should among other things tell if the HDD has an error (page 4.8 in the servicemanual)

GOLD MemberAh yes, thanks, it shows CDM Error 18, which is ‘HDD Access Error’. Seems strange that it still records but doesn’t play though.
Does anyone know if there is any way to ‘reset’ the HDD?

GOLD MemberOh by the way, I did also run testmode 37 again after running testmode 27, and it worked that time and reset the system to default settings, but the HDD still won’t play – I still get ‘HDD Lock’ in the display if I try to play from CD Mem.

GOLD MemberBased on the HDD acces error and the age of the sytem it might be likely that the HDD has failed.
The Servicemanual indicates that the HDD can not just be swapped, but might have to be transferred and/or setup by the use of the B&O service tool which to my knowledge is not available for other that dealers and servicecenters.

GOLD MemberYes I think you’re probably right, I was just hoping that the fact that it will still record but not play might mean the HDD is okay.
It’s probably not worth the cost of replacing the HDD, to be honest I use a Beosound 5 for digital music anyway. It’s just nice to have things working fully.
