I finally decided to swap out my 7 year old Samsung with a new LG C4 65″ as I already have a Beosound Stage from before.

So I also added a BeoRemote One BT (BR1) as well as a Floor Stand 4547 (Beostand Stage) to complete the setup.

All connected up fine (had to reset the stage to get the BR1 to accept the Stage) and all functions work as they should (including controlling the Amazon Firestik 4K Max connected in HDMI1) which is great.

Only problem is that I cannot seem to switch on the TV with the BR1, the Stage 2 diodes lights up, but not the TV – it stay’s off.

      Switching off is no problem.

I looked through the online guides on B&Os web site (stage) but doesn’t give any instructions and seems to be based on older WebOS LG setups.

Any pointers, as this is so frustrating… Last 1% to reach the perfect setup, making up 99% annoyance.

Quick Update and follow up question(s)…

For some strange reason it started working, meaning I could switch on the Stage and TV with the Beoremote, but then all of a sudden it stopped, and back to square one.

When I press “TV” on the BeoRemote One BT, the Beosound Stage turns on (two white lights) but the TV remains off. I use the LG remote to switch on the TV, and all the TV functions work as expected with the B&O remote, and same when I go to switch off the system.

I have not the faintest why the only function (Turn system on) doesn’t work when everything else does (and that it did work for 2 weeks or so)….

Just to make sure Im not doing anything wrong: What should the screen on the Remote show before I can switch TV and the Soundbar on by pressing TV? I have tried multiple (HDMI 1, Live TV, SIPTV App etc etc), or is there another sequence of buttons I should press before the signal is read correctly by the Beosound Stage and LG C4 TV?

After pressing tv, choose source, and press ok.
Otherwise try other cables between tv and Stage.
The BR1’s signal travel thru the cable to the tv.

“After pressing tv, choose source, and press ok…”

THANK YOU so much Captain… Did just what you recommended and it’s now working again.

I don’t have a Stage, but with Theatre you can also change the button to directly go to the source (instead of scrolling and pressing ok, just one push on the tv button and everything switches on).

With Theatre it’s under Settings > Sources > Tv sources > Source from stand-by

              Thanks TinuAMS for your pointers.

I think it’s a different world between stage and Theatre, as I have no menu (in either the app or on the TV), and do not recall having seen “Settings > Sources > Tv sources > Source from stand-by” anywhere…

So, it worked for a while but then all of a sudden it stopped working again. I tried with a different RJ45 and also pulled the power on the stage. This caused a lot of additional issues.

              1. The BR1 is now not working at all, meaning the TV is not controllable. Went to the B&O app on the C4, re-ran it, and was told there was no connection. Cancel / Retry option were there and I tried multiple times Retry.
              2. The B&O app and BR1 controls the Stage fine, so I’m going to play around some more with the connections and different cables.

              Not very straight forward…

Sorry, for a moment I thought Stage was also on the Mozart platform. My bad.

I would swap cables again between Stage and your C4, remove the B&O app, reinstall and start over again. To me these issues scream faulty cable, but it could be on the software side as well.

TinusAMS – You were 100% right on the cable comment and, I’m embarrassed to say, that after I checked the connections with the new RJ45 cable, it had come lose from the Stage so no wonder nothing worked…

Looks like all is fine gain, and hope it will work going forward, as

                  1. The LG remote is awful when you first have gotten used to the BR1,
                  2. Going to have the C4 and Stage setup on the B&O floor stand 4547 (after I move house later this year), and as the cables are well hidden away, swapping these will be much more cumbersome going forward,

Thank you all once again for your comments and push in the right direction. Highly highly appreciated indeed…

UPDATE: Back to square one… 🙁

Cannot switch on the C4 again with the BR1BT. I’m using the same RJ45 cable as before, so I’m thinking it must be something to do with the cable rather than anything else. Going to try with a new “fresh” cable and see if that makes any difference.

Switching on (via BR1) should be as simple as : TV -> Select button (to chose the opening tv function, i.e. App, HDMI1, Live TV etc) but TV is not turning on. Worked sporadic for longer periods to all of a sudden not working. I did not make any changes to the TV settings…

Will keep this post updated as I move, slowly, forward… 🙂

UPDATE: I finally got to figure out what the issue was/is.

As hunched before, for some reason, the Amazon Firestick Max 4K (FS) inserted in the HDMI1 port was causing the issue of the TV not wanting to switch on when using the BR1BT. I removed the stick, and did a 30min unplug of the power and all then worked as expected.

I’m going to try and use a different HDMI input for the FS – as it worked in the past. Just not sure if the use of a specific HDMI port and/or if it needs to be done in a certain order, in relation to the BR1 and Beosound Stage power on cycle as, again, it worked in the past, me just not knowing what the order had been in all of this (it makes sense).
