I’ve noticed that Beoparts changed their name into Danish Sound Parts, dksoundparts.com.
I’m wondering why?
I know and have seen that a number of secondlife companies have changed their name of their company which contained the phrase “Beo…” over the past years.
Apparently B&O owns that “Beo” phrase, at least they think they do.
I can understand why B&O wants to protect their brand and wants to distinguish themselves from others.
But with Beoparts, driven by our Martin, I don’t understand the urge why Beoparts had to change their name.I think there is a difference between the companies ,who are trying to make a profit and sometimes deliver a “poor” installation, resulting in a negative image for B&O (hence the name changing for companies I think), and Beoparts.
I never met Martin, but I think he has done a very good job in providing us with parts and most of them even obsolete parts, which B&O themselves aren’t able provide anymore.I therefore tend to think that Martin has done B&O a favour in keeping a good number of legacy products alive with the parts they can provide.
And more important is that the large number of nowadays still working legacy products has helped the brand awareness of B&O or even raised the awareness among the young generation.
For instance, I’ve met a lot of the “young”generation people that bought a new recordplayer for a considerable amount of money, discovering that the most are a pain in the “bottom” when it comes useability and discover our beloved brand and discover how easy they are in daily use.So, that’s why I don’t understand that, I assume, Beoparts was forced to change their name as on the other hand Beoparts is B&O doing a favour with keeping up their legacy and planting seeds which B&O will have the advantage of in the future.
I’m just wondering and curious about your thoughts.
I’m not changing my nickname btw :-). Still and will be a so-called brand ambassedor.11 November 2024 at 22:17 #60822Interesting. Well as long as we all make the necessary adjustments to our contacts it shouldn’t hinder the sales and excellence offered by Beoparts, ahem! sorry, I mean Danish Sound Parts.
I love how you referenced ‘our’ Martin. The man himself guided me through lots of repairs and good use tips over the years. He is indeed our own treasure (among a lot of you good ol’ Beopeople from this site).Nice bit of news there Beobuddy!
