My Beomaster 7000 has started acting up.
Recently, there have been issues where it will turn on but there will be no sound from any of the inputs. (yes the plug is in the back, so that is not the issue)
Sometimes, it will turn on when pressing Radio and the radio will be very faint until you press volume up and the sound kicks in.
Additionally, I have had it connected to one of those energy saving 5 plug strips, and in the past it would open up for standby to the other devices when I turned on the BM7000. Now that also does not work, so my assumption is that it does not draw the power that it used to. Any ideas what is going on?
It was recapped a while back so that should also not be a cause for concern.

Try speaker sockets 2. They bypass the relay. If sound is good there, replace the relay.Martin

I did try the headphone socket, and there is no sound either.

I got my BM7000 back from a repair guy yesterday, and it worked as it should. I played radio, records and CD for 5 hours or so. Turned it off, and this morning the old problem is back again.
The unit turns on and reacts on remote commands but there is no sound. On my Beolink 5000 and 7000 it says RADIO STOP. Also when on radio, the locked symbol does not light up. I was lucky to get the radio channels working for 2-3 minutes and then the locked symbol lit up. And then all of a sudden the sound was again not there and also the locked symbol disappeared. No inputs give any sound but the Beomaster can control all functions. I will obviously return it to the guy who repaired it but at this point I am more inclined to source another BM7000.
Location: Copenhagen28 December 2024 at 08:35 #61983Is the display with the channel numbers ok? The MM5450 can cause this with bad communication with the cpu.
I have seen several 8032 CPUs going defect… and lithium batteries/caps. And Eproms loosing their data.
30 December 2024 at 13:47 #62061Yes, the display shows the channels without fault.
I discovered today that the BM does not remember the clock and date even though I had just stored them. (Edit: I had not pressed STORE, only ACCEPT).
The lithium battery and caps were changed a while ago, so they should not be any cause for concern. Also, the two muting relays were changed.

Location: Copenhagen3 January 2025 at 19:16 #62231I could use a little help here. I have 30V AC on P23 but no AC on the input of Bridge Rectifier D2. I therefore presume that the bridge rectifier is not working properly. I tested the relay RL1 and that works fine when you plug the unit in (it says a click) but it does not say a click when you turn on the unit as it should. However, it tests fine. I guess again this is because of D2 not working properly. Any thoughts?
Location: Copenhagen4 January 2025 at 07:44 #62238The relay is pulled when in standby. This can be confusing.
If it does not release when ordered, the amplifier will not be powered.
Check the relay driver circuit. A shorted transistor here would not be a first.
If you already suspect D2, that would also be a good place to start.Martin
8 January 2025 at 14:24 #62404Thank you for the help, Martin. The issue was TR19. It measured slightly strange, so I changed that one first. Solved the problem. Now I have a fully function Beomaster 7000 again.
