Beomaster 6500 repair – internal fuses?

My most recent acquisition (as I continue to suffer from incurable Beovirus) is a full Beosystem 6500 in white, which includes the MCP6500.  It is in excellent cosmetic condition but was obtained at a good price because it’s not fully working.

Beogram and Beogram CD both seem fine, although tested only briefly so far. Beocord will need new belts (makes a noise but will not play or wind), but I’ve met that challenge before and fixed a few B&O tape decks, including a 5500, which I know is very similar to the 6500.

The main problem is the Beomaster, which gets no power.  I am no electronics expert but I opened it up, and found a fuse next to the power supply; hidden beneath a paper flap thingy and I can see a fuse labelled ‘T2A’.  I tested it with a voltage screwdriver, and I’m only getting power at one end.  I removed it and could then see it had clearly blown.  Could be an easy fix!

However, I checked the service manual and I think I can find the above fuse given as F1T2A on the circuit diagram, but I also see another fuse on the diagram labelled F1T5A, and I cannot find it!  I figure I might as well test that one too, but I don’t know where it is!  If anyone happens to know it’s location, please let me know.

I know there’ll be a reason the T2A fuse blew and it might not be a simple fix, but I might as well start there.

I didn’t find that, but as it turned out I didn’t have to – when I replaced the T2A fuse, I got power back! It’s been working since.  I’m about to go on holiday but when I’m back, I’ll replace the belts in the Beocord, then my Beosystem 6500 will be in full working order.

Thanks for the answer anyway – you never know, I may need it some day.
